Bit of a line outside when we arrived but we were inside within a few minutes. Staff handed out menus and order forms while we were in line, so they had our order as soon as we sat down. Food came out quick and was delicious. BBQ pork buns were especially good. Great value for money. Highly recommend!
I had the basic spinach and other greens filled dumplings with soy sauce, chilli sauce, and a bit of vinegar. Quite tasty and fulfilling!
All dumplings are nice, and could not be more authentic. Cold dishes are fine, but you can find much better choice elsewhere in Melbourne city. Don't Don't Don't try those hot dishes unless you have a unique taste.
This is the worst yum cha experience we have had anywhere in the world. I can barely describe what we were served today, except to say when it appeared on the table, it looked utterly horrendous... goopy and just not fit for consumption. My partner urged me to at least try some, as we have eaten all over the word and are frequent yum cha advocates and this was the most appalling slops we have ever been served. I cannot begin to describe the filth we were served and would urge anyone considering going here to think again. As a sidenote, there was ZERO distance between diners and an alarming amount of people dining in very close contact, but compared to what they dished out, this was nothing. REVOLTING and wouldn't think about eating here even under duress.
Good food, very busy. Servers generally good. One accidentally knocked my tea cup and Spiller hot tea everywhere and my leg. She apologized and helped to clean up. Other than that. The menu items that are shanghainese food, are genuine shanghainese food/flavour and styles. (Confirmed by my mate that was born there.)
I had Xiao Long Bao here. They were really bad. They look fine, but tasted so bad. I had the same at Hutong the night before, which were excellent. So I know what tastes good and what doesn’t. If you want good Xiao Long Bao, don’t come here.
The crispy pork wasn't crispy in the slightest (greasy pork would be a better description) and the pork buns were doughy as all hell. Essentially, the food is average. Though, in saying that, you can basically bring whatever alcohol in and its all good. Literally just rock up with a case, a bottle of vodka, a goon sack etc. its like the most BYO place ive ever seen
First time visitor but my kids have been here before and recommended we all go. We waited outside about 10 min which was ok and then another 5 min inside. The waitresses come outside and ask you what you want to order to save time. Overall the service was good and most importantly the food was very good. We had pork fried mini buns, chicken & prawn steamed mini buns, crispy duck with bone and beef brisket with tendon in hot pot. Everything was very nice and tasty. Total bill was about $88.
Post Stage 4 Lockdown Review: Came in an hour before closing, which meant we did not have to wait for a table. Social distancing has been observed although no contact tracing measures were observed and condiments on each table are still shared every after customer. Service is not exceptionally friendly although food is really good and will always be one of our go to Chinese restaurants in the CBD. Dumplings are almost always good and egg fried rice is awesome!
Super delicious dumplings. Friendly staff. Very fast service
