Saffron Indian Gourmet

Booked for first table for 4, called to ask if it was okay to have 6 people and 2 of which were happy to pay full price. They agreed. After ordering and eating the food they decided we had to pay full price. The service was awful, had to ask consistently about where our drinks were, and that we were ready to order. Several other people walked out as they were waiting too long for any service. Food was good but doesn’t make up for the horrible service. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

I don't know how the food is because they cancelled my booking before we got there, after sending me a reminder of my booking only 90 minutes beforehand. They said someone cancelled by email and I would have been sent an email confirming the cancellation. Neither happened. When I asked to see these so called emails they couldn't find them. Clearly there was a mix up but staff were dismissive and were unapologetic about the situation. They sent us to sit outside but by that time I'd lost my appetite. We promptly left and ate elsewhere. The food there was great.

We have been coming here for a number of years and have always enjoyed good food, the atmosphere and the service. Having visited there last night, we were very disappointed with the very slow food and drink service to the point where on 3 occasions we had to actually walk up to the bar and ask for service. The restaurant was not overly busy and staff were basically looking around and not focusing on patrons in restaurant. The restaurant is also looking very tired. This is the second time in the last 4 months we have had the exact same problem.

Well priced high quality indian food. Really nice atmosphere. I asked for a mango lassi which wasn't even on the menu, and after checking with the kitchen, I had one in front of me! And it was delicious.

Poor Service A rather disappointing experience for my family. We ordered starters and main’s simultaneously but the mains were served almost an hour after we had eaten the starters, and after my partner had to go up to staff to remind them of our order. We had lost our appetite by the time our mains arrived and In the end my 11 year old couldn’t eat much of his food as he was too tired and just wanted to sleep. Food was average. I doubt we’ll be back.

We found this place by accident while walking through the area so tried our luck. The food was amazing! Without doubt the best Indian food we have had in Australia. It’s an upmarket type restaurant with a gourmet twist compared to a typical Indian restaurant. The food was fresh, spices were blended to perfection and portion size was perfect. We saw some negative reviews before but experienced nothing negative ourselves. The staff were attentive and the service was quick, friendly and professional. I can only guess that negative reviews came from people expecting the more standard cafe type Indian restaurant. This is not that kind of place. The decor, the menu and website are a clear indication that this place is different to the standard offerings. Price wise you may pay a few dollars more (maybe $10-15 over a typical place) but you’re getting a totally different meal and experience. Bear that in mind before booking. The menu is not extensive but what is on there is made to perfection. If we’re on the GC again in the future we will return here.

Not been here for years and the level of food and service has not dropped. The food was flawless, in fact could not fault the service either. Great portion sizes food looked with love 10/10

An amazing experience from the food, to the staff, to the atmosphere! Delicious food with beautiful live music playing softly in the background. The meals are well priced for the proportions and they were so tasty! Can't recommend this venue enough!

I ordered take out. When I arrived to collect I was met by a man who had no knowledge of my order. He was hostile and rude, anyway I showed him my email and then he proceeded to tell me it would take 30 minutes to prepare, I said I would wait outside. After a half an hour I went back in and the chef came out and said there was a note on the slip to say I would collect at 6pm??? I showed him my email to say I ordered and it would be ready at 1pm. The hostile man appeared and started to argue with me. Anyway I received my order and left. It was a very disappointing experience as we love the food at Saffron. Please teach your staff etiquette and some good customer service. We will never order or dine in at your restaurant again

Food was really good and the service was so good for my group of 32 people
