Excellent food, wine and service for the Italian Yum Cha.
The Grand Hotel staff were wonderful when I recently asked for assistance with arranging a special meal delivery to parents/parent-in-laws. It was a big ask as it involved extra travel but the staff could not have been more helpful. We know the food ... it is fabulous and cannot wait for an opportunity to get back to the Grand.
We have thoroughly enjoyed two recent Chef's Boxes - the Truffle Box and Emilia Romanga Box. Amazing presentation, absolutely delicious food and great all round customer and delivery service. Highlights for us were the croquettes, pasta and pecorino sauce, chocolate tart, mortadella spuma, chicken brodo with the pork/nutmeg pasta. The quality of the food has been top class and these boxes have been some of the best "takeaway" food we have had over the course of the isolation. We have always enjoyed going to The Grand and these boxes have added to our enjoyment. Thank you!
Fantastic food of the highest quality! Not your average pub grub, more like you would expect at a fancy restaurant!
Went there for the Italian Yum Cha during the Melbourne food and wine festival. The service is exceptionally bad, we asked for substitute for a dish due to allergy but it seems to us that this is not acceptable and no explanation of what will be replaced. I think it is ok for restaurant to say no for substitution if that’s the restaurant choice - but if restaurant is ok for the change, would be great to know what it is... besides it is very hard to get their service - and once u get their attention, they make u feel like you are giving them trouble. The food itself is ok, though I can’t really tell why they call it Italian Yum Cha - except it is just Italian food in a smaller plate for sharing and the chinese decoration and chopsticks. I think if they call it Italian tapas it makes more sense.. The table behind was extremely loud and inconsiderate. Anyway not recommended.
A well-planned and well-executed box of goodies from The Grand. Tasty and with easy to follow directions. There's some reheating, even some cooking, to do but the result is well worth it. We had the Truffle Box, which is available only for two weekends in August. I recommend it but, if you missed out, try something else. It's too good to miss.
ITALIAN YUM CHA 👌🏻 We went to The Grand Richmond to try their Italian Yum Cha and it was amazing. The venue, the food and the service A+. We’ve already rebooked and can’t wait.
The place have a relaxed vibe to it with plenty of seats inside and outside. The pizza is great and their famous lasagna is also good but not mind blowing kind of good. The pizza is thin whilst the lasagna is moist and light. The restaurant's menu is different to the bar menu. Food - 7 Service - 10 Vibe - 8 Price - $$$
