Excellent
Loved the place and ambience
We chose The Grand as a space to hold our very important season launch dinner. The team were very professional and fun, Milan was so attentive and great at pacing the food and keeping the drinks flowing. The food itself was absolutely delicious and more than enough for all to leave feeling well fed. The venue itself was perfect and staff made sure the seating worked for the room and the company it kept. It is a place I would highly recommend whether for an event or just a mid-week dinner for yourself! Such a wonderful atmosphere. Can't speak more highly. Thank you.
We had a 'ladies lunch' for my sister before her wedding in the Como room and I could not recommend this venue more highly! All the staff were amazing and attentive and accommodating. We had a fabulous time and, as always, the food was just delicious! You really can't go past the signature gnocchi... it's the best dish in Melbourne!! Will definitely be back and recommend the private rooms to others!!
I had my wedding at The Grand and can not recommend this place enough, food was out of this world, wine was some of the best we had and the staff were so tentative. Loved the atmosphere and the team, but a special mention to Kirsty the organizer and Miguel who was assisting us on the night. Thanks again The Grand for a night forever to be remembered
Booked for farewell dinner for a collogue at work in one of the private rooms. Staff very attentive and ensured a seamless event, the food was delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an event space.
My partner booked a dinner for us online for my birthday and the staff rang him back and let him know that the birthday person could have the meal for free. They were generous enough to let us know about this as we did not know before. We went for 6 course meals and they were flexible enough to change some dishes for me as I don't eat particular meat. The food was good. 1 star taken off is due to the long waiting time for food to be served. The couple who came after us were served before us. We went there around 6.45 and ended up leaving the place immediately after finishing the last dish around 9.30pm (almost 3 hrs). The last 3 dishes were served quite slow and we did not plan to stay that long for the dinner. We were quite bored waiting for the dishes. We were thinking if that was intentional so that we ordered more drinks. I had to walk to the cashier to get their attention to pay the bill as the staffs did not look at us often, they were around chit chatting with other white customers (we are Asian and were pretty quiet there). I did not complain as they already let me to eat for free.
My only grouch was the seating. Needed a cushion or padding of some sort on chair in wine bar area. Service excellent and the was great will return
Recently had a work place Christmas party here and had such a great time! Entrees in particular were delicious (will be coming back for the gnocchi) and service was exceptional, thanks so much!
Service is not great across the board (really weird, wait for AGES for service and it seems like you as the customer are a bit of an inconvenience - multiple times), but the food is absolutely awesome. The pizza, and in particular the mushroom pizza, is the most delicious pizza I have ever eaten in my whole life. Fellow mushroom and truffle lovers, do yourselves a favour and try one! They do takeaway too but you will still have to interact with the staff to order so beware!
