Best Italian in Newtown. From the owner: "it doesn't look fancy, but tastes like home cooking". We are never disappointed with Pastizzi Cafe.

ad dinner here on the 24/02/2021. The service from wait staff was excellent here and they offer complimentary parmesan and chillies. The portions sizes are good. Some of the items are a bit and a miss and they are very liberal with the salt on all there dishes. The spaghetti marinara was good with a nice variety of seafood, the mussels however did have beards left in and the dish was a bit too salty. The Roasted potatoes were cooked perfectly but had a lot of salt. The garlic bread was toasted nicely. The pasta boscaiola was creamy and well balanced. The ravioli in pink sauce was good however the sauce overpowered the ravioli. The veal fungi was an absolute disaster as it was dry and overcooked, tough and hard to cut. The pasta carbonara was good but salty. The gnocchi was good and well balanced. The cannelloni was fresh and Had a good amount of filling.

This is an excellent cafe. I've eaten here twice. The pastizzi at the front is such a good price and easy take away. They also sell you the frozen bags to take home. Last time I also had the slow cooked beef cheeks, so amazing. Highly reccomend.

A small slice of Malta on Kings Street. Very popular and with good reason. The seafood is particularly good.

Beautiful Maltese food. From a very humble beginnings in a verysmall shop in Crown Street Sydney where cooking was done experts in a small oven. Now a huge variety of Maltese food to eat in or take away. Fresh frozen varieties also available. Plus excellent coffee.

Love this place - probably loved it even more in the old location, but the upside of the new one is more space and easier to get a table. Such great pasta, any dish on the menu, and so lovely people. Going there almost every week with the same group of friends

I have the chicken and mushroom ravioli from time to time and it is always fresh and delicious. The staff are very welcoming whenever I go and the atmosphere is bright and chill, just like on a holiday. I've tried other menus like spaghetti and they were all really good, though my fav is ravioli in napolitana sauce. Definitely recommend visiting

Busy, happy place with good food and quick, friendly service. AND one of the few places in King St still open for late night coffee and cakes - essential second stop after a good Asian meal πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜Ž
