228-230 Dorcas St, South Melbourne
Great service, yummy food, nice organic teas.
1. Great location to wander south Melbourne 2. Very good breakfast especially green bowl with lamb 3. Eggs and potatoes hash good too. 4. Good coffee Recomended
Great service, inventive food, well thought out ambiance - we go to their sister cafe left field all the time. Only suggestion - French toast is sickly sweet almost inedibly so. I'm all for indulging your sweet tooth, but not if at the expense of crashing from a sugar high and having a claggy sugar feeling all day after. Dish was French toast, dusted in a thick coat of caster sugar, 2 types of sugar syrup AND all dusted with powdered sugar. Even the marshmallow was dusted in sugar! It Doesnt add any extra flavour or depth, maybe add some berries or something fresh for a sour component to balance it out? Anyway , I'll be back for the savoury thanks for excellent service.
Recommended dishes: ✨pulled pork eggs ben ✨green breakfast bowl Review: there was a crowd outside nine yards on a Saturday morning. I especially loved the yellow floral hues and rattan chairs. In addition to serving delicious coffee, the brunch menu was also refreshing and exciting - I was spoilt for choice! The panko crumbed eggplant and French toast caught my eye - I made a mental note to be back just for that. I opted for the green bowl today just to be healthier. I also added an egg and falafel, but the additions were honestly not required - portions were generous and the egg didn’t elevate the dish as much as I had hoped. Similar to left field, I can confirm that nine yards makes really delicious salads - a variety of textures and interlaced with nuts! I particularly loved the picked cucumber which went well with the kale salad. Falafels were also cooked well. The pulled pork eggs ben was probably the best version of pulled pork that I’ve sampled in Melbourne. I’m generally not a fan of dry pulled pork, but nine yard’s version was sufficiently tender and went well with other classic egg Ben ingredients. Prices were slightly steep at $58 for two, but we left very satisfied.
One of my absolute favourite places in Melbourne. The staff are so friendly and even remember your name after a few visits. It’s so nice to have a community vibe in the middle of a city. Shout out to Rob and all the friendly staff that make my day. ❤️✨ P.S - the caramel slice is to die for.
The prawn toast was amazing! The prawn went really well with the sesame seeds and the poached eggs were perfect. We also ordered the pulled pork which was good but can take a bit more seasoning and maybe some smokey bbq sauce. The pork lacked taste. Overall, still a great brunch spot! They have a 10% surcharge on Sundays, fyi.
Nice to catch up with Robin at nine yards. Light and good ambiance in the restaurant, great service and the food was very good. Well done team!
Absolutely delicious, with great service too.😁
Incredible menu. Really hard to choose. Went with the lamb shoulder and it was absolutely incredible
Always such good food and coffee, the menu is always changing so I have tried something different each time I have been and they always nail it. Love their versions if smashed avo 🥑
