33 Playfair St & Argyle St, The Rocks
The combined plate is incredibly tasty and the food is so much for you to shared with at least three mates. The band kindly providing enthusiastic show which matches so well with the environment in a typical German bar. I love this place and I will recommend to my friends. Definately one of the best restaurants in Sydney.
Came here again, but this time, it's for the National Chicken Wing Day. For one day only, every Bavarian branch offers 10c Buffalo-flavoured chicken wings. We ate a reasonable amount for a group of 6 people (~100 or about 4x half kg chicken wings) when you buy any beer 🍻. The more the beer, the more chicken we get. Besides, this limited promotional offer, I do enjoy the taste of the chicken.
So much and delicious food for our 6 people. And very traditional German beer!
Great platter, has variety, enough for 3 people, close to circular quay so after a harbour cruise for lunch.
Tried an online booking, it didn’t work claimed all tables were unavailable (tried different days in all upcoming month 😏, obviously something went wrong with the app...) Tried to call, selected an option 2 for the Rocks - Sydney venue...nobody picked up the call, voicemail was full. Tried this exercise past 2 days in different times, hoping for the booking to be done.....unfortunately with zero success. A huge disappointment! “Well done” 👎
After reading the reviews, I became skeptical of this place, but I decided to take a visit nonetheless. Surprisingly, the quality of the food that I ordered (veal& truffle sausage, crispy pork knuckle) was quite good and the mango beer was excellent. The staffs were also very friendly, and I suggest going to this place for late night dinner or snack.
Great for when you’re looking for a fun dining experience. They have the long wooden tables, band playing Germanic music and the classic, giant steins of beer. Don’t forget to jot down if you’re there for a birthday and they’ll be sure to come embarrass you with a loud happy birthday tune. Food is classic with schnitzel-galore, pork knuckles and belly - and well as some tasting platters that help you sample more than one dish.
One of the popular places in Sydney due to the location and the unique offering. They have some amazing brew beers and a huge range of imported ones as well. A must for all the beer lovers. I tried the Hofbrau Dunkel - dark lager and enjoyed the maas thoroughly. They also offer beer in a boot shaped glass which is quite fascinating.
Great atmosphere with the band involving the audience. The hats are a brilliant touch and add a good giggle to the experience. Quality of food is great and portion sizes are generous for what you pay. It could do with one or two tables less just to give everyone a bit more breathing space and perhaps in the warmer months the Air Conditioning could be turned on a little higher to help prevent the not so delicious smells of sweat. Keep in mind this place is ultra busy for a reason. If you don't like crowds locations where you have to yell to communicate with your dinner guests, go outside of peak times.
Love the atmosphere here. We have spent many a night enjoying the food and drink here. And even had the pleasure of enjoying a Christmas party in the dinning Hall. The festivities and music made the evening one to remember
