135 Harrington St, The Rocks
Just 3 stars as the owners decided, after the rebranding, to only keep a few Belgian beers, and upped the price significantly. This was the signature of this place, and made it unique in Sydney. Now not too sure what makes this place standout.
This venue is fine for what it is, but is like every other modern bar now. It has completely lost all the charm and specialty that it used to be. Essentially NO Belgian beers (the 2 available in bottle are not the best) and no associated food. Disappointing change from a great decor and style.
Popped in for a casual Friday night dinner. Rotisserie beef was excellent...! We’ll definitely be back for the mussels on a couple of nights time.
Fabulous atmosphere and food! Service was very prompt as well. It is a touch expensive however. Still a strong recommend.
Great location and brilliant interior. This is a great spot for a drink. So many Belgian beers! Fantastic selection. It would be easy to spend and afternoon here sampling various beverages and chatting the afternoon away. The service was excellent. The staff were attentive, but not overly so. We ordered promptly and our food was delivered very quickly. The meatballs were excellent. Definitely worth ordering. The salmon wasn't great. It was over cooked and the sauce had split by the time it arrived at the table. The food was on the expensive side, but not unusually so for the area. It was within the bounds of what you'd expect for dining out in Yhe Rocks. Best stay for beers and snacks. Maybe continue further afield for food.
We were disappointed to find that the Belgian had been transformed into a modern restaurant. In our opinion it has lost all its charm and uniqueness. The menu is average. The food is ok. The service was good. We are not likely to come back.
We have been coming to Belgian Beer Cafe Heritage over the years and the decline of the service and quality is reflected on the amount of people in the cafe on a Saturday night, there were plenty of tables and bar was virtually empty. We had a visitor from overseas that we wanted him to experience the atmosphere of this place that we did before but we were mistaken. After ordering their famous Mussels Provencale, we have decided on the beer we wanted to have but they told us that they have run out of the beer we have chosen and two others we asked for also ran out, 'a beer cafe running out of beer!!', well this shows how badly the place is managed, not to mention the over priced food they sell, '6 chicken wing for $16', I guess no need to say more. Unfortunately, we had to leave this place for the last time and went for a German Beer and that was the best part of the night.
Reduced menu, food and drinks. Pretty disappointed the Steak Tartare is no longer there. Had the mussels which are always decent. Garlic bread was stale. Staff were great. Cherry beer is what keeps us coming back.
Authentic food
Recently renovated, this place is a large style beer hall, feels very cosy and inviting. The beers and the staff are great, haven't had a chance to eat here yet. But the menu does look good.
