MONOU Japanese kominka

Very good Japanese food and lovely, helpful staff. The ramen and salmon carpaccio travelled well and were very tasty. Bonus - they don't use plastic in their takeaway!

First time at Monou and we will be back, the atmosphere was amazing, cozy and homey. The food was totally fabulous. Authentic taste seasons with creativity. Warmth service makes you feel like you are having a dinner party at friend’s home.

Really enjoyed their sister store Kuu so decided to check out Monou. A bit more of a fancier setting with a high ceiling and generous space. Very helpful and friendly staff, I dropped my chopsticks midway and they rushed out with a replacement after they heard the sound. Particularly enjoyed the negitoro (would be nice if there was some rice on side), the grilled mackerel (so soft and juicy) and the yaki onigiri. (The calpico highball was also nice as a drink). Was excited for the skewers, tasted good but felt a little pricey for what it was

Monou has lovely service, great food and a nice atmosphere. They have a vegan ramen and are suitable for children and adults - more targeted at adults. Food is fresh and worth the price. Can get busy so may be worth making a reservation.

Really nice cuisines and friendly staffs. Can enjoy the decoration of old Japanese style.

Authentic Japanese food, comfy inside and friendly staffs. Bara Chirashi and Gyoza are my favorite. Great selections of Japanese alcohol bevarages. It's better to get one more staff for floor. Even it's not busy, it's difficult to contact with staff.

Found this little gem after all other restaurants in Sth Melbourne were closed, and the family struck gold! We were warmly greeted and sat immediatley. The staff got the children setlled and their dishes came out immediatley. The food was super fresh (and took the girl by suprise) and each bite was brilliant. Monou is a great place for kids, food, friend catch up, and just a place to enjoy. Thank you so much for a brilliant evening.
