On The Water 35 Eastlake Parade, Kingston
Food looks great and the decor is nice, but when your wait staff are hopelessly wandering around dazed and confused struggling to clear tables while people wait by the door to be seated for 15mins it kinda detracts from the vibe. Once finally seated, it was cold comfort as I observed the majority of patrons sitting at empty tables killing time waiting for their orders. I cut my losses and ran before I could have any more of my time wasted.
Best Chai! #realchailover
Great cafe excellent food coffee and staff.
Great location, atmosphere and coffee. Weekend surcharge a little steep.
Went with a hangover and came out feeling not just human again, but revived and replenished. I LOVE THIS PLACE! If I lived in Canberra, this would probably be my cafe of choice. When I visit, I will definitely be back. The food was not only delicious but ethically sourced. I salute any cafe that takes the trouble to source free-range ham and bacon. The wild mushroom and chestnut dish I had was amazing. VISIT THIS CAFE!
Not a place I’ll be rushing back to. Coffee was nondescript, bacon had been wafted above the pan for 2 seconds before plating and service was hampered by continuously trying to cram in more people rather than serve those already there. The staff working there were pleasant enough but let down by all of the above. Out of ten I’d rate this place ‘food court’ at best.
Lives up to raves. Wholesome inventive food. Service is always good as well as the WiFi. Downside is that it has become popular and therefore crowded most days. We really need more cafes of this kind.
Best build your own breakfast on the foreshore... so many yummy choices
Nice atmosphere. Fashionable. Good coffee.
I think the table waiting system is a bit of a mess in this cafe. When we arrived it was quite busy and a waitress told us to find a table ourselves, so we did. Later on other stuff member told us to put our name down on the list. Not sure why. There was no one waiting, the table was there and you need to order from the cafe yourself anyway. This whole part was a bit confusing. The menu looks great, out of two dishes- one was pretty good (crab chilli scramble) and the other one was a bit dry and warm (I expect cassoulet to be hot) (pork cassoulet). Sourdough was a bit dry. Coffee was great!
