Little Guildford

Went for breakfast for a treat with no kid's for a change. Breakfast's came out only one was right. Waited ages for correct one to come so ate separately. Had to chase up orange juice after that. Next the coffees took forever. Shame as such a beautiful little spot & food tasty.

Very disappointing. Service staff didn't clean up mess left when they spilt our drinks on the table. Food was not good. Pesto gnocchi was very poor.

Went there on a freezing cold day, the front door of the cafe was wide open, so it was like sitting in a wind tunnel. I asked if door could be shut, but response was, “I’ll put the heater on.” This did absolutely nothing as any warm air wafted out the open door. Couldn’t take a menu to the table, had to either stand at counter & read or take a photo on phone. Coffee was served in paper cups, food was good, but wished we’d tried cafe round the corner, which looked much more cosy. Overall service was lacking & it was bloody freezing in there.

Menu prices for coffees apparently not the price...which you find out only when querying why you were charged so much. We came in for breakfast and when ordering asked if we could swap one item (Bacon) for a cheaper item (Baked Beans), ‘sure no problem!’ They continued to ring up our breakfast (A big breakfast and a pancakes with just butter plus 2 large coffees) which came to $60, I was surprised but paid and went back to my seat to check the menu, I was surprised to find that the meal should have come out at $53. When I went to the counter to check how they came to $60 instead, they informed me that they actually ‘don’t do swaps’ so instead had just charged me for an extra side. Not doing substitutes is fine, and if they had said that we would have just stuck with bacon, but instead they said sure, then proceeded to charge us $4 extra for a cheaper menu item, while intending to still take off the bacon from the meal. When queried why they didn’t just tell me that they don’t do swaps they did to their credit then offer to refund me the $4, but there was still $3 difference from menu prices to what I had been charged. This was explained to me by letting me know that our large coffees were not actually $4.50 (as listed on the menu) they are actually $5.80...they just haven’t updated the menu yet, but also said nothing while I ordered and paid. When I pointed this out this was met with a shrug and an excuse of, we were cheaper during COVID...which we haven’t had restrictions for for well over 6 months. If you choose to dine here, please double check what you have been charged VS what the advertised price was.

Chic breakfast spot nestled in the town of Guildford. The plates looked a little small but they're packed with flavour. I ordered the Little G Vego plate. The mushrooms I thought were really tasty. The chipolatas on the Little G Big Breakfast were flavoursome without being too salty. I especially liked how the potatoes were crisp on the outside. The coffee cups were on the small side and was a little too lukewarm for my taste (even after I've specifically asked for it to be really hot). A good little spot for a lazy day, having breakfast with a friend having a yarn.

Used to be my favourite for coffee and breakfast in Guildford but you’ve lost me as a customer and lost my recommendations. Coffee was well below average and tea was just a teabag in a paper cup!? Everything was on paper plates and paper cups- terrible for the environment and tacky! They said it was due to covid- every other cafe I’ve been to just does a decent job of washing their dishes and serve on proper plates and mugs.Little Guildford loss will be Padburys gain it appears.

food was yum but the paper plates and disposable cutlery was a bit average with the price. really nice coffee tho. the staff were all very young, would say most under 20 so it was a bit hectic most of the time

Food was delicious. The outdoor area in the rear was peaceful and felt like you were away from the bustling crowd.

Usually love little Guildford, the food is usually amazing, however today I was left feeling disappointed. Ordered the smashed avo and toast and it was nothing special, there was one crumb of feta and it was just bland, also the baked beans were undercooked, cold and not very nice. When paying so much money for a breakfast, its annoying having to eat off cardboard. But the service was good as usual, fast and friendly!

Giving a 3 star because I would rather give constructive criticism: •Being served my expensive a** food on paper plates with paper cutlery, I understand this is because of covid but I think when you charge prices like that, stop being slack and just use normal cutlery & plates. I realise they're biopack but it's incredibly wasteful! •Food was nice but definately needs improving, I ordered the big breakfast and firstly it was an extra $2 for scrambled eggs (!?!?). My bacon was barely cooked, it looked like it had just been tossed onto the grill for a few seconds. Also the potato cake was a bit bland, some handmade hash-brows would be a good substitute in my opinion. • Positive, my mushrooms, chipolatas & eggs were delicious! •Positive: friendly staff, nice place & was given a takeaway box free. •You guys should really have menus to take to the table Anyways, I feel completely jipped by the price-point not matching the service, please take this constructively!
