Khaybar

I had the eggplant dish BURANEE-BADENJAN which comes with Afghan Roti (very big one). Afghan food being a first for me, loved the taste spoonful of the curry inside a piece of the roti. For the mains, I was suggested the KHAYBAR SPECIAL which is a kebab dish “Mixed plate of lamb, mince and chicken skewers served with rice or bread”. Loved the Chicken kebab. The lamb kebab is soft and easy to chew. Will definitely go back to try some of the other dishes.

I was in Auburn for the Cherry Blossom Festival with a friend and on a whim I decided to take her to enjoy some Afghani food. We got a plate of mantou, baigan bademjan, the Afghani bread and of course the lamb Kabuli Pulao on the recommendation of our server that it was going to the best lamb we'd ever had. We also got dough - an Afghani yoghurt drink spiced with dried mint. Having had Afghani food before, I was so happy with everything. The dish I least liked was probably the mantou, no fault of the restaurant, it simply was not my favourite. But the Kabuli Pulao was the hero, melt in your mouth lamb, delicately spiced rice, raisins and sweet slivers of carrot on top - it's everything a Kabuli Pulao should be. The lamb needed merely gentle coaxing to fall away from the bone, and I wished I had only got this one dish so I could have done it justice - it's definitely the hero. The baigan bademjan was a pleasure to eat as well with the bread. It's a clean, decently priced restaurant. I highly recommend it and can't wait to be back.

Delicious food and good service

overpriced. Outdated food. Never going back. Once tried to talk to the owner directly he responded it’s my shop and my rules if you don’t like don’t come back.

Food was standard, overpriced especially for the portions served. We ordered the lamb Qaboli, in the menu showing full plate of rice with meat on a seperate plate, dish was served with half portion rice and meat on the side. I recommend the owner change the photos in their menu and provide accurate description.

Excellent food and friendly service recommended to all

One of favorite restaurant in Auburn. I'm a fan of Qabulli palaw. It's delicious and tasty. It's just a bit pricey though.
