Good enough food

Could be the worst nasi goreng I’ve ever had. Yes that is a picture of the nasi goreng. Don’t mistake it for a salad. I was so confused when I went to pickup my order. I looked at the bowl and told the lady behind the counter “no, I had ordered a nasi goreng”! This was the tofu option and was $13. Prawn, chicken is $15+. Where’s the fried egg? I had to put so much chilli paste to make it tasty. Never again to Ipoh.

Good place for food court style Malaysian. Satay tasty. Hainanese chicken rice pretty good. Terrible service though, chicken/rice sitting on counter for 10 mins waiting for satay. Got cold and had to send it back then wait again.

The food is nice, but not great. I've eaten at Ipoh on York an bunch of times, which is probably slightly better but WAY busier. The price is reasonable, but the ingredients taste a little cheap. Also the service is not great. Indifferent. These people need training. People think if you can talk, you can attend a shop/restaurant. Wrong. If the person serving is not professional and even cordial, I won't be back and take my friends with me. The opposite also applies.

I ordered chicken laksa for lunch. The portion is quite big. But the temperature of the soup could be a bit hotter.

Ordered Rendang but was fatty. The boiled egg was over cooked. The tray was dirty. The lime drink had a lemon in it. And the toilet had no tissues. They really need to up their game. Hopefully the management notices and improves their service.

With it's famous Laksa and Hainan Chicken Rice on the menu, there's no need for any further review on how good Ipoh is as a restaurant. But unlike it's other shop at York Street which is always crowded during lunch, this shop here is the perfect place for a stress free lunch break. It's got enough (and comfortable) seats in a huge indoor food court.

The best satay chicken. All fresh ingredients and pretty well priced

Great food, reasonable price.frendly staff. Good seating. As far as I know only open Monday to Friday.
