Chicken was full of bones. Looks like it was just the leftover cuts that were used. Rice was delicious but ended up needing to order another dinner anywhere because servings were so small. Very disappointing for what was meant to be a Michelin star experience. People who were with me all had the tofu however and they were pleased with their dinner.

Average at best, both dishes we ordered were lukewarm, it was 6pm on a Saturday and not particularly busy. I ordered a large roast pork with noodles and I would say it was small to medium. It definitely doesn’t live up to the hype, a way better place is China Bar on Brunswick Street in Fitzroy, does the same thing but hot and very generous portions. Will not be coming back unfortunately because I was really looking forward to trying it and it was a big let down.

I was lucky enough to visit @hawkerchanaustralia and try their new menu - 𝙍𝙤𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝘿𝙪𝙘𝙠! 🦆 I’ve always loved their noodles and pairing it up with the roast duck is yummm! And of course we had their classic chicken, char siu and roast pork to complete the meal!

Hawker Chan, being popular for it's cheap price and Michelin star rating, has mixed reviews. For me, I think the BBQ meats are decent, but can definitely be hit or miss. My experience here was average, although the two times I did try them it was takeaway. That being said, they do offer great deals, particularly if you use Eatclub app, where they can provide 50% off dishes. The noodles are a must, and I think is one thing they do well, as the sauce they use for the BBQ meats are quite flavourful. The combination meat I got, that comes with BBQ pork and roast pork was disappointing, as my roast pork was the size of my THUMB, and there were only 5 pieces of it. Given its price, it was not worth it at all. Soy Sauce Chicken 4/5 - I will say that the soy sauce chicken is worth highlighting. The chicken was tender and the soy really shined through. It was well marinated and the portion was decent. Overall will order this. Unsure if I will really go back, or just go to a local BBQ meat shop and eat those instead. Worth a try, and maybe better dine in, but at the moment not sure when I'll go back.

Quick, cheap, and delicious is what you’ll get at the world’s cheapest Michelin-star restaurant. I’ve visited Hawker Chan on multiple occasions - on my latest visit I tried their exciting new menu item, Roast Duck! Available in half or whole, or with rice, noodles or hor fun. Succulent and delicious, and served with their house-made plum sauce which goes well with rice! Of course, a visit to Hawker Chan is not complete without their famous Soya Chicken - I highly recommend having it with their springy egg noodles, the flavours are just amazing! If you’re looking for something vegetarian, their Thai Style Tofu is definitely worth trying. It’s crispy, sweet, and highly addictive! Thanks for the invitation!

Even though we got the food for takeaway and wasn’t able to have it fresh, I still found the food great. The pricing was also decent but it was a shame the sauce wasn’t sealed properly so it spilled all over before we got to properly sit down to eat it later. Would definitely go back to try other items on the menu.

I can’t believe I just tried Hawker Chan... I missed out BIG time. Their crispy pork belly is amazing!! I absolutely love the bbq pork too. Don’t get me started with their soy chicken. So good for it’s amazing value.

Premium Char Siew Noodles ordered. $18.90 including delivery which was very fair and good value. Arrived hot and fresh and noodles still with good bite. Lots of Char Siew pork. Some of the meat was a bit chewy and sinewy, but overall really nice flavour and mostly tender and good amounts of fat for flavour! My only issue is that it was completely over doused in the sauce which was extremely sweet and salty and a very heavy in MSG flavour. I simply could not eat the noodles, which was disappointing as I love cantonese style egg noodles. I requested some chilli, and was served with some nice sambol and pickled fresh green chillies. In short, good Char Siew, but need to work on the noodle game! 2.5 stars

Soya sauce chicken was very tender and had good flavour. Char siew on the other hand was very tough (like very). Although I ordered large for both chicken rice and char siew noodle, I think only the rice had an appropriate portion size. There was quite a lot of char siew, but not enough noodles.

Although some of our choices were not available due to being sold out, the food was nice. Warm, but nice. Will come back again, hopefully the food will be hot and the items we want will be available
