594 Station St 3128, Box Hill
3.5 stars βοΈ The food was ok, probably a bit too much msg or salt for my liking. The portions are big, for $16 you get soup, fried noodles, green veg and soy milk which is great value for money and can probably feed two small eaters. Also ordered an egg spring roll thing with a fried dough inside. It was quite nice
The Pineapple cakes and Cheese Cakes are absolutely amazing!!
Grand Taipei Bakery is famous for their pineapple tarts and baked pastries, but those are not the only things that they excel in. Specialising in Taiwanese snacks such as scallion pancake, sticky rice, beef roll, savoury soy milk and the likes, this is a great place to grab a cheap and cheerful meal. The savoury soy milk is my favourite. Can be an acquired taste as most people are more familiar with sweet soy milk, but the savoury version is just as delicious. Topped with Chinese doughnuts, spring onions and chilli oil, itβs akin to drinking a soup, although a not very aesthetically pleasing one. The Chinese omelette is a great snack to share, and can be ordered wrapped around Chinese doughnuts. For those who are after a more substantial meal, there are rice and noodle dishes available such as fried pork cutlet with rice, and braised pork with rice. One of my favourite places to frequent whenever I am in Box Hill, and it has proven to stand the test of time.
Been living in box hill for 2 years + and always assumed itβs just a bakery shop, but guess what this place actually serves authentic Taiwanese food, such as pork chop rice/noodles, braised pork rice, beef noodles... My first visit this day and I had the pork chop noodles, not the typical type of yellow noodles. Pork chop is nicely done too. If only they provide chilli oil, the meal would be complete Will be back for the braised pork rice and the rice roll...
Very delicious cake.good service
Best bakery in Box Hill. Delicious food, Decent Price.
If you Love durian, this is the place to go !
Not just bread products. Also hides a nice Taiwan style restaurant with a simple menu.
Ordered two tier cake for my dads milestone birthday on 1Sep. Top layer durian, second layer yam. Master Baker Justin suggested we try his durian sponge cake so we did. Absolutely fantastic cake. Pure magic (err and skills) outside and inside. Justin's piping and Chinese characters are beautiful. Dad is very pleased with his cake. Lots of praise from guests. Highly recommend. Well done and Thank YOU, Justin.
Seriously the most authentic Taiwanese breakfast I have had oversea. All three food we order especially the rice ball π just feels like home π‘
