Goldfish Hunter Valley Restaurant

My hubby & I enjoyed a special Valentines Day lunch at Goldfish. We have been to Goldfish before for drinks and bar snacks when staying in the Hunter Valley. We were very happy with the quality of food, beverages and service. The Valentines Day set menu was great value for money with options that were difficult to choose between. It was hard to pick a favourite dish. Yum !

The food was sensational ! So was the service and the drinks. A definite favourite now

Food was good but not great. Best to be in a larger group as the majority of the menu is meant for shared plates. My experience with the service was very poor. We were not greeted at the entry after arriving at 8pm for our booking. We waited to be greeted for a while before walking in on our own and approached the bar asking for help. After being seated it took a while before being approached for our order. It was about an hour before we had anything on the table including drinks and entrees. It wasn’t a particularly busy night which made it even more puzzling.

Mothers Day 2021, my mother, myself and my daughter had the most amazing meal at your lovely restaurant. We were treated like princesses, waited on attentively. Highly recommend. ❤️❤️❤️

Goldfish do a lot of interesting nights. Local's night and the Supper Club are great. The courtesy bus is also a huge positive.

We booked a table for a birthday lunch however arriving 10 minutes early it was not ready and staff member was a bit rude about it, so once seated staff still cleaning up around us. The table was not big enough for 11 with extra seats added to end of table making it squishy. Staff taking orders were friendly and food arrived promptly however drinks were brought to table last. Could not fault the food, enjoyable and reasonably priced. Booking was made on recommendation however not sure if I would recommend.

Hopeless. Visited Goldfish Hunter Valley a couple of years back for lunch, and what a poor experience that was. From the service (of lack thereof) to our wine arriving after we’d finished our meal — who’d have thought it would be that difficult to get a wine in the Hunter Valley! Anyway, stopped in this morning to grab a couple of takeaway coffees. Easy, right? Wrong! After waiting patiently for our two large takeaway coffees, the waitress brought them out in dine-in cups. After letting the waitress know, she went back inside, tipped both coffees into what appeared to be small takeaway cups and returned with our coffees. After noticing that these “large” coffees were a little light, I removed the lid to find the small cup just over half filled with coffee (may as well call it a piccolo by this stage!). After asking one of the waiters if this was actually a large coffee, he said “let me fix that for you”, went back inside to add hot water basically to the rim of the cup, put the lid on and returned. After realising that this was probably the best it’s gonna get, we returned to the car only to have hot coffee drip continuously from under the lid over me and the rental car. Do yourself a favour and give this place a miss. Like I said at the start, hopeless!

We choose Goldfish as our location for dinner and drinks with the girls as we couldn't miss the opportunity to see the fabulous jazz band Half-Nelson perform. Our meal was exceptional while we dined in the open air enjoying the beautiful vista. The cocktails were delicious and the staff very friendly and professional. The band really was the icing on the cake. Thank you for such a wonderful night.

Had a lovely lunch with friends, yesterday at Goldfish Restaurant. Service was very good and food enjoyable. Need a few more prawns in the mango salad as there were only 3. The gin a juice punch was fab. Would go back again. I know it was very a hot day but may need to look at adding a bigger a/c unit, as it was still quite warm inside and I was sitting near the window so it was even hotter. Other than that we had a lovely lunch

Ate at Goldfish over the weekend. Great restaurant with an awesome vibe. Excellent service and food - the share platters were amazing and very filling for a group of seven. Would definitely come back.
