The staff were friendly and passionate about the food giving great recommendations. We had mostly specials, the scallops were beautiful and plump+juicy, the gnocchi was so delicate, the mushroom dish was nutty and rich, the goat was tender and flavoursome and the skin on red emperor was perfectly tender. Very high marks and large portion sizes. Fine dining in a nice location.
A big thank you to Gioia for hosting our large booking - We had the set menu which was fantastic food and value for money... loved the shared entrees and dessert and every single attendee mentioned how much they enjoyed their main meal, as did I. The food is fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. The service is fantastic, polite and attentive and our glasses never ran dry. Andrea the owner really went out of his way to look after us and we really appreciate it - what a great evening we had! Celebrated a significant birthday at Gioia... Amazing !! Great service very attentive, and the food was delicious - every dish. Do yourself a favour and check this place out. You won't be disappointed.
I can't thank Andreas from Gioia On the River enough for the exceptional work he and his staff put into making my 60th Birthday such an amazing event. Andreas was so helpful and easy to deal with from the moment I went to talk him about my birthday lunch- nothing was too hard. He was so obliging and professional every step of the way. All the food on the day was exceptional and everyone is still raving about it, especially the seafood, which was phenomenal. The day ran so smoothly and I knew I didn't have to worry about a single thing, except to enjoy my day. Thank you to Andreas and all the staff of Gioia On The River for making my birthday celebration so special.
We had an early dinner for Mother's Day two days ago at Gioia. The staff were super attentive and very welcoming. The food was top notch - the set of entrees was beautiful and so were the mains. Our 18 month old son loved the bolognaise from the kids menu. It was perfect for kids, even as small as ours, as it didn't have too much spices but was still delicious. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening.
Recommend this place. Menu was varied, and food was fabulous. Four different meals and all plates cleaned!! can't get a better review than that. Good wine list, and beautiful setting by the river. Will be back again, this will be our new "go to" restaurant. Thank you Gioia on the River.
Will never visit again. Although staff were pleasant and everybody else at the table enjoyed their meal...oh after 1.5 hours wait in between entrees and main. Which is utterly ridiculous....the spaghetti with tomato sauce that was only option for a vegan main (no vegan main listed I had to ask) cost over $35! The chicken meal that my daughter ate cost less than this.... they did have one vegan option an entree... but really? Seriously? Need to bring your game up with those prices one would expect a lot more. Absolutely never again! And yes it was stipulated on the booking a vegan would be attending. Disgusted at price for some spaghetti and tomato sauce....what a rip

Absolutely beautiful food, staff and service. Cannot fault this place. The Marinara was chock full of seafood and the Beetroot Gnocchi was to die for. Look forward to coming back again to try some beautiful authentic Italian Food. Thank you so much for a beautiful Saturday night. If I could give 10/10 I would. Highly recommend.
I wouldn't rate the service we arrived and sat there for 10 minutes waiting for a menu and then waited an hour for a main dish. We decided to leave earlier as they seem to accommodate the business men more than the other people sitting around. Will never be going there and neither will my friends. The food was good but i would definitely recommend them getting more staff once attended by the waitress she was very nice but even having to wait to pay when all we wanted to do was go home was ridiculous we had to wait for him to finish a conversation he was having with some customers
