I took my partner here for a date night and hoped to get a drink and share dinner together.
In terms of ambience, the place has nice lighting albeit a little dim. But the place is definitely loud and rowdy, and it's definitely not a place to have a romantic evening and a good chat.
In terms of food had the assorted charcuterie (which was nice) and gnocchi (which was also nice). At this point we were full.
Everything went fine until we asked for the bill, where we were told we had to spend $130 more. As it turns out, the $100/pp deposit was also our minimum purchase amount, which is hidden in their T&Cs. We now uncomfortably had to buy $130 of additional food and drinks that we did not want or could comfortably eat.
We had decided on another main and cocktails. At this point, dining wasn't enjoyable: it felt like food was being forced down our throats.
For dessert, we went with the cheese platter (priced at $30 on their menu with no further details). When we were ordering the cheese platter, we were offered additional cheeses by the waitress. We were not told that these additional cheeses would cost extra or by how much. This then pushed us well over the budget we were allocating for the night.
A word of advice: If you are going to offer additional products or pricing conditions to your guests, at least be transparent about your pricing and put your conditions upfront. Sneaking them into the bill by not disclosing additional costs or hiding them deep in the T&Cs comes off as sly and dishonest.
We left the place feeling both upset and cheated. It ruined our date night as we had also missed the last tram (they had stopped for track-work) due to all the additional ordering we had to do for that minimum amount.
We will never come here again, and we certainly do not recommend Felix. There are better places to spend that amount of money for a better dining experience.
