I had this year's birthday celebrations at Don't Tell Aunty. It is the most incredible place. What a vibe. Incredible service too. The food was 11/10. Too many of us to go through each dish individually, but everyone's meal was simply stunning.
Really enjoyed this. Went a bit back - did banquet and had a good time. Good spicy on some of the dishes too. Gotta say. Worth going here for a birthday so secretly you should plan to have your birthday here for the surprise.
The food was great, and the service was excellent- very attentive and super helpful. We got the $65 tasting menu which was great value for the enormous amount of food we got. Loved the “self serve” beer fridge. Great selection of wines and cocktails too. The naan was so good- I could have eaten a basket of that alone if I had any room left for food by the end! My only negative was that the chair was weirdly high for the table, and also very hard. Because the restaurant was super busy and therefore loud, I had to lean forward so my partner and I could talk. My back was absolutely killing me by the end of the evening to the point where I almost couldn’t stand up.
Food is fantastic. The venue is nice and open. The vibe is great. And the staff were made us feel comfortable as we were a large group Loved it and will be back soon
A very good place to indulge in unauthentic style Indian food...the choices are limited, but well prepared...good courteous staffs and very nice ambience... A bit on the pricier side...for two people it can easily go to 100, however the food tastes good and you wont mind paying after the food...
Since dining here for the first time last year, I have been raving about this place to my husband that we finally went their for dinner the other night. We decided to splurge and try different meals by getting one of the tasting menus. Oh my gosh every dish was tasty! We are usually simply butter chicken people (typical white people) but we were blown away with how delicious all the dishes were. Our only regret was we wish we had a bigger stomach to finish everything because there simply too much. Also the cocktails were just as delicious too. I can't wait to go again :)
Excellent food and fast and friendly service. We ate. And ate. And ate. Nice Indian street food vibe, in a spacious restaurant. Try the cheese naan - it’s superb. NB: The address in Bourke st but the entrance in on Foveaux st.
A great addition to the area - some first class good options, friendly service, large space.
I been there last year in December. Ambiance is very good but the food is so so.. I heard about this place and saw lots of good reviews but honestly if you are true Indian food lover then you may not like the food there a lot. It’s bit pricey just because the restaurant is based in Surry Hills.
Food was delicious and we'll presented, the environment was cozy yet vibrant and fun, the drinks were fantastic, and the service was superb.
