The best Indian food in Melbourne! The taste of the finger-licking food was enhanced multiple folds by the friendly staff, especially Mani (sorry if I spelled your name wrong). Keep up the good work! Thanks for the lovely time! Would definitely come back! Cheers! :)

I don’t know where to begin. I shall try with good things about this place. This place seems to be very popular and always seems to be busy. True to its name, there are many Delhi street food options which made me drooling seeing the menu. I chose Bhel puri and a lager beer as a starter. Bhel Puri had too much Imli (tamarind) sauce making it hard on the palette. The actual taste got lost with this overpowering tamarind chutney. While I was half way through I was offered the Thali (I took mixed thali which gives one Veg and one non-veg curry). Not many option here though. I chose the safest one - Butter chicken and Matar paneer. The size of the thali was good which came with some wilted salad leaves and dry chutney and a papery papadam (the papadam was kept too long after frying). The rice was a complete letdown. Too dry and had lost all the moisture. Must have been cooked and constantly reheated. Overall it’s all hype and average place. This is my personal opinion and probably had too much expectation from an Indian restaurant.

I went to the restaurant base from college recommendation on last Friday. The order I was getting is pani puri, masala chai and mix tahli with butter chicken and dal. The butter chicken is tender and full of flavor, the papadum is tasty. The pani puri sauce tasted lemony and full of spice. The masala chai smells mixture of cinnamon and other spice but tasted light and milky. The staff services was welcoming and friendly. The environment ambience was warm and lively. The 9$ pani puri is pricey, the mix tahli is a little expensive. Overall everything is pretty good.

Description

It's not just food at Delhi Streets, it's a spectacle as well. With the authentic flavours of Indian street food and the vibrant energy of the markets, Delhi Streets brings a new delicious dining experience, sure to surprise and excite the senses. In India, families don't go to restaurants for dinner, instead they say to each other, "Chai pani" - "Let's go out to eat,' and to the markets they will go. Rather than just a few dishes, one meal is made up from a bevy of delicious options, from savoury snacks and filling roti's, to sweet Gulam Jamun, one meal consisting of many items. At Delhi Streets, we're taking just some of our favourites and bringing the experience to Melbourne in it's entirety, with traditional flavours and all the flair. India lives and eats on its streets, and our cooking and energy pays homage to that, bringing the flavours that we miss from our hometown to our new home to share. Have a snack, or eat a full meal, but just give it a go!
