Was looking forward to this restaurant after reading the reviews but it was a big let down for us. I was under the impression that it was fine dining but it felt more like an RSL venue. Service was very slow and unorganised. We didn't get water for a while I had to ask multiple times as they just gave us cups. The couple behind ustold staff they were ready to order and the waiter said he would come back later as he had to wait on other tables first.... The wait for the food was disappinting. My veg stir fry was completely different to what I had imagined and I was really disappointed with it. My partners meat was raw when they brought it out and they gave no instruction on how to cook it yourself. Oysters were overpriced no difference to oysters from other restaurants. I asked for chilli sauce to accompany my stir fry and they gave me sweet chilli sauce and charged me $3 for it on the bill. Not even the sauce I wanted but never been to a restaurant where they charge for chilli sauce. When we asked for takeaway boxes they said they don't as they don't have a takeaway license.... 😅 Never heard that before in my life lol. We left feeling very unsatisfied $170 later and the couple behind us seemed like they were having a very awkward dinner trying to flag down waiters to get another beer as they waited ages for their food. Want to keep the review shortish so ill leave it there, really don't like writing bad reviews but we just felt so 😒!

We ordered 2 of the hot stone sirloin and seafood combo. The steak was to die for and was lots of fun cooking it on the stone. You get to pick your sauces and sides (recommend the potatoes And veg over chips and salad) The seafood was very fresh and portion sizes were perfect (we are quite big eaters too).

Everytime I've been there it has been outstanding service and food!! Cassy was amazing and really looked after us!! Great waitress😘

Had a fabulous meal at Cataract. Highly recommend going there for anyone interested in great food. We will definitely go back when in Launceston again.

All of the food was literally so delicious, beautiful cocktails and lovely and helpful waitstaff. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a fancy date night spot

Had dinner here with family and it was beautiful. I had chicken which was yummy and my family and others had the lamb shoulder which they too really enjoyed. All meals were very tender. Oh, the garlic pizza bread was so good we ordered second helpings. The ambience was amazing and the staff very friendly.

The food was good but service was not this Sunday evening. 1/ Staff didn't let us order dessert (still politely) when we almost finished the main meal. So we had to finish the food, waited for them to come to order dessert and waited for the dessert. 2/ The icecream we ordered was not on a cold stone. When we asked, staff explained that they didn't have any left (which they should have let us know before they brought it out, so we could have ordered something else).
