125 Victoria Ave 3206, Albert Park
Came here at lunch on a Saturday and this place was deserted. I selected a lunch set which consists of sashimi, rice, tempura, salad and miso soup plus a protein, which I selected salmon teriyaki. The sashimi (I think it was kingfish) is fresh enough, the salad was at the bottom of the sashimi and was soaked in dressing, which wasn’t great. The tempura was good. Departing from the usual tempura dipping sauce they gave me a spicy mayo instead, which was nice but probably a bit too rich with the tempura. Nice variety of veg tho. The salmon teriyaki was just two thin silvers of salmon, whilst nice, not substantial enough. Thankfully we ordered a entree of wagyu gyoza w spicy sauce. The downside is that the waitress initially gave the order to another table (there were only two tables of guests in the whole restaurant so you would have thought that she remembered orders!) and the chilli sauce was not spicy, at all. We ordered kids ramen (1 each) which my kids found too little to satisfy their appetite. Thankfully we also ordered edamame for them and we went to Jock’s after for icecream. Not great value for money and food was only so-so.
Excellent japanese cuisine at a very reasonable price. Sushi and sashimi is amazing. Quick, friendly service. A local favourite.
Excellent izakaya style restaurant in Albert Park. Staff understand dietary requirements and are happy to accommodate. Some nice, different spins on classic dishes like nasu dengaku. Their rolls are delicious. Great when you want proper Japanese food but don't have the occasion or budget for something fancier.
Nice food. A lot of vegetarian options available. Definitely will come back again
Amazing food, the sashimi is particularly delicious!!
It’s a good restaurant with really nice food here. And reasonably priced saké. The chefs are Japanese too. I had well made sashimi & sushi, ramen, beef brisket, umeshu, a good salad, some saké, eggplant tempura, and chocolate cake. Everything was good. Thankyou.
Great authentic Japanese, worth travelling for.
Don't tell too many people about this authentic Japanese. From plates to izakaya to the nigiri, this place serves contemporary dishes of quality and care. There are cheaper places to get sushi, but there's nothing that competes for quality and flavour. Just don't tell everyone because it's Albert Parks best kept secret
This is a lovely Japanese dining place perfect with family with little kids. They served delicious Japanese lunch bento and also have kids menu. Their desserts is not to missed.
Great food and variety!
