good food and venue. staff were nice.
Excellent food and service! If going on a Friday, after 1pm is a good idea if you're wanting lunch! π
Came here for lunch on a Monday afternoon and the cafe wasn't too busy. It's a good place to come in group. Ordered duck fat roasted potato, chicken thighs with curry chickpeas, roasted pork belly, whiting fish and bread platter with dips that costs only $2/person. Just as the name of the cafe, the bread was good. The other main dishes were good as well, which surprisingly suit the Asian taste in my mother, she was never a fan of cafe food. Love the ambience and decor of the cafe. Would definitely come here again.
Very unique setting. Good service. Food is professionally prepared and nicely seasoned but somehow doesnt feel very inspired. Its not original and very.. Common.
The wiped feta and baby peppers are to die for. Literally , I will die a happy man now.
A very long wait for poached eggs. The eggs were perfectly cooked but the bread (1 piece) was grilled on the char grill as opposed to toasted so it wasn't even slightly crispy. I had to ask for butter, and by the time it arrived the food was tepid. Served with a large pile of greased rocket? No thanks. If you can't even get the basics right...
Good service but pricey ...
Beautifully embellished space with a dark, woody feel and golden lighting. Despite the large space and shared bench tables (they have private tables as well) it all feels very intimate. We went for a late lunch and the open kitchen was busy, the patrons all smiling. The waitstaff was efficient and friendly but not saccharine or overbearing which is just what you want when you just want in a restaurant like this. The food was incredible Italian/Mediterranean-inspired, rustic farmhouse fair that felt like you wanted to forgo the silverware and just eat with your hands, mopping up any leftover sauces or jus with the delicious bread. We had a number of entrΓ©es and mains that we shared amongst the three of us including pickled peppers with a feta dressing, scallops with xo sauce, a spicy roasted/pickled cauliflower dish, brined pork loin, (hot smoked?) lamb, and the crispy, duck fat potatoes. Everything was very balanced, full of flavour, and perfectly portioned. The cotelette-style lamb rib was stunning, with crispy exterior and tender meat, the scallops a perfectly cooked single bite, and the pork was succulent with a delicious finishing sauce. The potatoes I could happily eat for the rest of my life. Even though we were absolutely stuffed I forced dessert on everyone and ordered the bread pudding with cardamom ice cream. I normally wouldn't use sophisticated and bread pudding in the same sentence, but they nailed it. Complex in flavour but comforting and familiar. Not to leave out their bar program, their drink selection is well-selected, broad without being overwhelming. We will definitely be back.
Disappointing!!! We had a lunch booking on recommendation from a friend. We arrived early, were taken to our table and given menus. Sadly that's where the experience ended. Thirty minutes later we had not even been given water, let alone our order taken. We witnessed a chef serving customers and he was clearly not happy. Without fuss we left disappointed, but fortunately found another great restaurant where the service was impeccable and attentive. While we understand there is a shortage of staff in the hospitality industry, the lack of any service, even just to explain that rendered a poor experience.
We stop over for Coffee and Dessert. But we went beyond the dessert. Taste rack of lamb and pie. Big place and good set up. Great service. Please click LIKE for support.
