Annapurna Salamanca Indian Restaurant

Annapurna is a below average restaurant. The food is not great. The butter chicken is so sweet you may think you have ordered dessert not a main. The goat biryani has more bone than meat. The food doesn’t taste fresh and probably has been spinning in the microwave before hitting your plate. But it is the only Indian restaurant in Salamanca and conveniently located, so I have dined there a few times even though the food and service have been sub standard. Today when I arrived, while the rest of Salamanca was bustling, this restaurant was empty (after all it is a sub standard restaurant). I asked to be seated. The waiter, a tall unshaven male, asked me to sit in the farthest corner of the restaurant directly in front of a pillar. This is probably restaurant seating policy. Substandard food and bad service !!

Always a great place to eat. Much quieter around 5-530. Attentive staff always willing to assist

Nice ambiance. Amazing customer service. We ordered Nan bread and butter chicken. I’m slightly disappointed with the butter chicken, as it was too sweet . Flavour was actually good, but that sweetness didn’t let me enjoy the real flavour. I’m not sure if that was by mistake or if you serve it like that only. Will check out next time. But lovely ambiance and very good customer service. Manager was very helpful. 👍

Great place for Indian foods. Interior looks modern with traditional touch. Like it. Not like other Indian restos with red and green LED lights. Staffs were friendly and attentive, look after customers’ experience with their foods. Price is fair for the foods’ size and experience. Taste was okay. Never been to India before. So no complaints on it. Prices for take away is 2$ less than dining in.

Really tasty and authentic Indian food. Service is good and all staff have a smile on their face and are helpful. Pricing is reasonable and they have a really good variety of Indian dishes. Don't forget to check out the banquet deals at the end of the menu.

Worst Indian food I’ve ever had. Sorry. The lovely accommodation we are staying at Recommended this take away place. Only one of our orders was identifiable. Oh and the papadums which were extremely ordinary . We have had so much amazing food in Hobart and this place was a major disappointment. I would give this place a wide berth
