Left Bank Melbourne
3.9
/ 1170

1 Southbank Boulevard 3006, Melbourne

We have been to Left Bank a number of times now and never been disappointed and yesterday was no exception. I had a small gathering for my birthday (14 of us) and we had the perfect seating within the little "cave" with lounges. We ordered the Promenade platters to share and they were nothing short of outstanding! A foodie's heaven with fig stuffed lamb, salt & pepper calamari, cured meats, saganaki, crab & snapper dumplings and more! Left Bank have a great wine list too with some very reasonably priced boutique wines, along some $$$ ones if that's you're game. Cocktails were the flavour of the day yesterday and they have some really interesting ones! The staff are very friendly and attentive and we were very well looked after. We highly recommend Left Bank for a casual drink and bite to eat, a formal sit down dinner with 2 or more or a small gathering.

If you OK with self ordering and picking the food up outside then it is a great. Food amazing, nice people and great food for the money you pay. 4 big meals and drinks for under $100. Over all fantastic!!!!!

The Kettle Black
3.9
/ 1066

50 Albert Rd 3205, Melbourne

I needed a new lunch spot close to our Melbourne office, so I jumped on Yelp (of course) and found this. Sounds good, I thought, so off I went. It was a short 5 minute walk. Kettle Black looked very nice, a bright, shiny breakfast-and-lunch spot wedged at the base of two tall office towers. But for those of us who just wanted some take-away lunch they've cleverly set up a cart out front selling sandwiches, salads, muffins, and drinks. There was no queue, although I was there at 12:30pm. Brilliant grab-n-go! The girl running the cart was very friendly. I got a pulled beef baguette, deliciously seasoned. A few seconds in the office microwave and it was warm and soft and yummy. It was a pretty good feed for $9. I had a takeaway ginger beer too. Super lunch option for this part of town.

The Duke

146 Flinders St 3000, Melbourne

Dropped by for a quick drink, seemed expensive and a bit of a tourist trap

Cargo Bar & Eatery
4.3

Docklands Melbourne 3008, Melbourne

One of the best spots at Docklands, great staff, good wine list and excellent breakfast menu, just missing free wifi :( and a bircher Muesli :( the toasted Muesli is a minuscule disappointment

Astonmil M.E.H. 688 Bourke St 3000, Melbourne

A handy late night drink venue. Conveniently close to public transport for the stagger home.

Hunky Dory
4.4
/ 678

252 Clarendon St 3205, Melbourne

The place just hums, the staff are well managed and there is a consistency about the place after me going there for months now as I live in Southbank. The manager is a real character and his passion for quality is obvious, the place is immaculate - he must work really hard to maintain this as the place is shiny and clean. I love my food and never return to crap houses but Hunky Dory in Clarendon St gets my vote. My missus in Welsh and she said that the chips are the best shes ever had.. The fish is very consistent and the other bits and pieces like scalllops and potato cakes are all to a high standard. You order calamari ask for tartare sauce and they give you a nice big tub on tartare, not some crappy thimble sized container. You order 1 potato cake in a big order, they give you 2 (the second on the house), just like a real fish and chip of the old days. The place is far better than the quite ordinary Port Melbourne shop. Recommend the fried beer batter flake.

Rooftop 0, Melbourne

The beer is fantastic, and they serve good pub meals. I wish they still did the classical European dishes they had a few years ago.

I went at the Conservatory and it was the best dinner I had ever! I went their on My grandma's b-day which was on Australia day. I got a window view and my favourite dish I loved was the prawns it was like ten centre-metres long. Beautiful dinning and lovely atmosphere. I would give it a 9/10 thumbs up
