My girlfriend and I have been to the Red Emperor on three separate occasions for dinner and each time found it flawless. The service is prompt, the waiters are professional and polite and the food is fantastic. We've been to Dragon Boat and Plume, both of which are similar in price but Red Emperor is definitely the best. For a special occasion the prices are justified. If you look at the menu and think you could get something similar for less from the food court downstairs you're kidding yourself. Red Emperor is quality and class with views of the Yarra from most tables. We'll definitely be back.

The waiting staff was exquisitely polite and welcoming! We had the 5 course set and were able to get a wide taste of what they had to offer. All of the dishes tasted great, in particular the crispy chicken with the wasabi honey dressing was very excellent and a unique combination of flavours. I would highly recommended dining here and will be returning shortly. We came early and the food arrived very quickly. For now it is one of Melbourne's best kept secrets!

This is awesome Chinese fine dining. Forget tofu lover's post below... they clearly have no idea. Puts other more expensive fine dining in the area to shame. The personalised service is awesome. You only have to go 2 or 3 times and they remember you for life.

I Iove Ma La Tang restaurants so when I was in Melbourne and saw this I had to enter. It was a delicious meal. Really spicy and numbing flavours. Great selection of seafood. Will be coming back again next time I'm in Melbourne.
