My lamb meal was nice , a little expensive for what is was, but nice. The waiting staff was appalling. Stretched across the table to serve the meals to customers on the opposite to side for every course. At one stage knocked a glass of wine over with the plate as passing to customer on the other side of the table, of which fell into her lap. At NO stage did they offer to replace the glass of wine. The waitress actually laughed as she was saying sorry. Our group all enjoyed their meals but service was very poor.

Ok so it took an hour to get a pizza and I can say I've never waited that long for a pizza :/ however one of the waitresses was great; she offered us free drinks for not being told it was going to take so long. Live music is really good; seriously thought they had james blunt playing on cd and got a shock when i saw the musician inside. The greek lamb pizza wasnt quite what i sas expecting; more lamb mince pizza not bad. Waiting staff are great; would love the food to be quicker though.

I have dined here 3 times in the last week. Amazing food, great service and a very comfortable place, even when eating alone. The breakfast to 2.30pm also rocks. Most likely will be back before the week is out.

what a great addition to Hobart's cafes!! The space is lovely (close to home for us!!)...food and coffee just perfect and the most friendly service you'd experience anywhere! ....and that's before we mention the lovely bespoke coffee cups and beautiful serving-ware AND the fact that its also a great social enterprise! Our new regular!!

Abel Land Cafe

48A Murray St 7000, Hobart

We stumbled on this place for lunch during their soft opening phase. We tried the pork belly and tempura burgers and the sweet potato chips (which I would call sweet potato tempura strips) and all were delicious but my favourite would have to be the tempura Burger. I've never tried such a thing before and it was so delicious. Staff are very friendly and attentive and assuming the prices don't go up from the soft launch ($7 burgers) it is very reasonable.
