Macrossan Street Shop 4/43 4877, Port Douglas
This is only a small restaurant half way along the main road. It may be small but its big when it comes to service and good Mexican. We had the spicy chicken wings followed by fajitas. Try and book because we noted lots of people were turned away.
Shop 5/31 Macrossan St, Port Douglas
One of Port's best restaurants at the moment. The tasting plate is excellent. Friendly and efficient service. Definitely recommend.
Shop 17 53-61 Macrossan St 4877, Port Douglas
Typical aussie breaky menu but well done and tasty. The eggs Benedict with the added avo to the side was great and the French toast with Nutella was sweet and nice...

We tried the pies and sausage roll and very freshly made egg and bacon roll with freshly baked bread, AMAZING! Shame I didn't see this place sooner. Exceptional value for money and service with a smile. Everything is soo fresh- Must try!

9 Macrossan St Central Hotel 4877, Port Douglas
"A great night out". The Central Hotel is an icon of Port Douglas, and is located midway on the Macrossan St shopping area. Since the devastating cyclone in 1911, the hotel has been completely refurbished, remodelled, and extended, for size this hotel would compare with Sydney or Melbourne. Outside on the footpath are high tables and chairs, with easy access to a number of alternative drinking and dining area's. The very modern additions include three different "verandah" dining area's on different levels, serviced by the "Verandah Bar". At ground level there is a huge area under canvas, with plenty of tropical greenery and two large TV screens featuring football of differing genres and movies.. Seating includes large tables with form seats and comfortable lounges with armchairs. The huge wall behind the screens is painted in two contrasting, dark shades and the new bar overlooking and catering for this area, the same, with a batterned bar front in a dark stained wood attractively featured. Beyond the canvas/sails covers is a completely outdoor area, with a lawn and garden. Inside, the famous "Public Bar" is complete with the usual pub entertaiment features, Pokies, pool, darts' internet and a live band. On offer is a diverse menu, seafood, pasta, king of the grill, mains specials, kid's meals, salad, snacks and breads. We started with warm Garlic Ciabatta, and for mains we ordered Barramundi, wild caught, grilled, with chips and salad. Also very fresh Garlic Prawns in a creamy white wine sauce, served on a bed of rice with crisp salad. Both meals were very tasty and well prepared. The service was attentive, and prices reasonable. This hotel is extremely popular and we enjoyed our food along with the entertainment provided.

32 Macrossan St Shop 2 4877, Port Douglas
Late night (at least for Port Douglas) dessert and gelato bar. Perfect for a light finish to a dinner. Served by very funky ladies who looked after us so well that I couldn't rate them anything other than a 5. Banana gelato is the pick although my 3 year old would suggest the chocolate as her pick.
Great staff. Pretty good food, decent value. Home-made gnocchi was really good. Tasting plate was great. Lamb was OK.
