Unfortunately I have to disagree passionately with each of the previous reviewers. I love this place! There are some fantastic german draught beers, and an amazingly extensive cocktail list. Even if nothing particular appeals on the list, the bartenders are more than competent to recommend and create delicious cocktails. The mussels with garlic ciabatta is delish. All topped off by fantastic staff, i loved the experience!

These are by far the best Portuguese tarts I have ever eaten outside of Portugal. I love visiting Petersham just to enjoy some Portuguese-style coffee with milk and some of the amazing available pastries. If you want to experience an authentic Lisbon Cafe without the 30-hour trip, look no further!

Great service, drinks and food! The have created a unique atmosphere that is a groovy place to catch up with friends.

Come to The Collaroy for the amazing views looking up Collaroy and Narrabeen beaches, and the relaxed vibe. It's recently been refurbished with very cool decor inside, and looks fantastic. I've been there twice and the food was average - the burger was dry the first time and raw the second. Although the staff were friendly when you got their attention, it has been a bit hit and miss. I'd come here for a beer with friends on a summer's day, it's perfect for that.

The food was great for the price - better than expected for a pub. The staff were slightly absent-minded with one forgetting to bring our food out and another one spilling drinks; nothing that bothers me but I thought it best to mention it for Dorothy's sake: If the phone call ruined your meal, eating here (or out of home) is not advisable!
75 Wentworth Ave 2000, Sydney
Went here on a suggestion from a friend (via Good Food Guide) - we were not disappointed! The 8-course tasting menu was absolutely fantastic, with rich flavours being followed up by an overwhelming array of subtle tastes, tangs and freshness peeking through - there was not a dish I could fault. Not being a fan of mushroom generally - I even found the mushroom consommé excellent! - exuding rich flavours that weren't overpowering and that were in fact complimented by the truffle dumplings. Talking to the staff - this place is already showing up on the radar. I went mid-week and it had a few diners - but for Thursday/Friday nights - you will need to book well ahead (at least 2-3 weeks in advance). Really liked it! (so much so, that I shall return to try out the 3-course lunch in a few week's time)

Great ice cream flavours you won't find anywhere else. Lemon lime bitters, dr. Pepper, satay, and all the standards...super shakes are yum and thick...asked for no whipped cream if you get take away otherwise the cream takes up half the cup..generous sizes and wonderful staff. Food is good but a fair bit of microwaving from what I've seen, kind of got to be expected though.
35 Wheat Rd, Rooftop Terrace Cockle Bay Wharf 2000, Sydney
Very funky terrace bar, groovy tunes, service a little haphazard but fun wait staff made up for it! Definitely a great spot for a drink (great cocktails) and a bite to eat (very good food). Good mixed crowd which I always like. Good views over Darling Harbour. It does close at 12 midnight due to licensing restrictions - super timing for me!! but others may mind. Great spot for summer drinks.

Located on the site of the old Harbourside Indian, Lavendra is a very different take on modern Indian cuisine. The food is delicious and well presented; the service is polite, efficient and attentive; and of course it still plays host to the magnificent view that made the Harbourside so popular. I see this becoming a frequent haunt when I'm in town for work. Highly recommended. Try the lamb!
Until new management DO NOT COME HERE! Being a regular prior to and whilst rennovations it is a pitty that with the wonderful new venue, great food and generally cheerful staff that there is a particular staff member in management that has a serious chip on his shoulder, I had been warned not to visit the venue from 3 different groups of friends that no longer visit the venue because of the narky manager on duty on weekends. I was at t he venue for a private function for a 21st so decided to ignore previous comments and invited my father up for a beer and to watch the Bledisloe Cup. In a room full of other Rugby supporters watching the game (as when we asked to hace sound on in another empty part of the venue we were told no sound is allowed apart from the designated sport area) Live music started mid-way through the first half, when I asked if the music could start after the game I was told sternly that "music starts at 10 and if you dont like it you can go somewhere else" unfortunately for such a great venue this staff member is bringing the whole venue down. I left and went to the Eastwood Hotel, met with a smile and great service in general, maybe some staff should visit this venue to get some training, as they are doing a fantastic job! I am hoping that my next visit is a pleasant one. if not, this staff member is costing you your reputation within the local community and thousands of dollars of income.
