Just fantastic, and in my opinion, the best of the Italian restaurants down Lygon Street. First off, you can see the chef in the window making fresh pasta, and that's exactly how it tastes - everything fresh and simple and tasty. Where other restaurants of this nature often leave you feeling heavy and stodgy, I leave this one feeling full of quality food and very satisfied. Love this place 😁

Beautiful food. Place is very authentic. Staff very friendly :) pizza was to die for... dough unbelievable... best we ever had. Pasta was also amazing home cooked what was great :) really nice place to have that Italian feel of Europe in Middle of Melbourne. Going for ravioli and fettuccine next time :) Thank you so much!

Had a wonderful experience here. I am vegan and the staff were very helpful in catering to my dietry needs, and made a special pesto pasta dish for me. My partner was also very happy with their dish. Staff are so lovely and friendly. I'm glad we walked past and decided to have a meal.

Extremely average pasta was tastless and Pizza had the flavour but crust was also very basic

They had the audacity to charge me $25 for 'supposedly homemade' (wouldn't be surprised if it was canned) pasta with sauce that tasted like thick milk. I think I used half of the salt grinder to try and inject some flavour into my meal. Mushrooms were flaccid and old.

We had a lovely night out. Service was great. Food was tasty and fresh. I ordered the steak with veg - the roast potatoes were really delicious, as was the mushroom sauce! My partner ordered the lamb shanks - very tender and large serve. Would go back again.

Very poor quality food. Staff was friendly but my goodness was the food under average. Over cooked pasta and watery unflavoured sauce tasted like pasta soup… garlic bread was somehow dry and soggy and the same time.

I had the Tono special pizza and my friends had the pasta and the gnocchi and it was all delicious! I love that you can see them handmaking the pasta in the restaurant, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming, I would definitely come back again.

Description

Since 1989, The Italian restaurant has been serving people with the famous name Borsari. The location is one of a kind in Melbourne, Australia that is Lygon Street. The present fully fledged restaurant was once a jewellery shop and the credit for such a unique name goes to the “Borsari”, ex Olympic cycling champ of Australia from where the Surname was taken. As of now, the restaurant is famous with the name "Tono On Borsari" as Tono family is taking care of it. We already have fabulous experience in the restaurant and successfully running a royal dine Italian restaurant on Bourke Street for 30 years.
