The Water Rat Hotel

Wow we had a brilliant night here last night. Sensational food- I had brined and flame roasted chicken. My partner's steak was something else. Friendly and attentive staff made for an excellent dumbing experience.

Great meals, great atmosphere. Monday night quiz night was awesome. I'd love to have coffee with the quiz master some time. Hehe. All round excellent place.

So disappointed with the service and professionalism received recently from The Water Rat Hotel. On looking for a venue to host my partner's 30th birthday we had hoped to hold it at this venue as we enjoy the food and their upstairs space would have been great. However, the first problem was obtaining the information on pricing, this was like pulling teeth! Eventually they provided this information and we decided we would proceed and book the location (5 weeks prior to the event). Deposit paid, food and wine selected, and we're looking forward to hosting a great party. Two weeks prior to the party the events manager called me to apologise that a colleague of hers had taken another booking on the same evening and ours was therefore cancelled. I pressed for alternative options but this hadn't been thought through at all on their part and they had nothing that suited our brief. To add insult to injury, when attempting to refund our deposit they charged it a second time! My partner had to chase them to have this corrected. We're really disappointed at the lack of care and being dismissed. It's a shame because we did enjoy frequenting the pub for meals but we're not inclined to support this business at all anymore.

A quality pub. Friendly staff. Good food. I had the burger. Ate it all. Good beer. And I know beer, I am a Hash House Harrier. They kindly hosted us upstairs.

Went here for a few drinks after work and really enjoyed the place- Adrian one of the bar tenders had a good knowledge of the wine on offer, very friendly staff and good atmosphere. Will defo be coming back to this bar again :)

To the staff working on 2/6/2019 thank you our group of 18 arrived without a booking and we were seated and served straight away. The food was fantastic. I will be back

Quality Food & Friendly Staff We visit The Water Rat Hotel once a month and always have great service and amazing meals. Generous portions and really tasty. Has become our favourite local

Terrible service. Made we wait 1.5 hours for my burger and still no food. They later tell me that they had a function upstairs which they did not tell me about at the time of order. The staff was unapologetic and unhelpful. They still did not get my good so I walked out. I would not recommend the service at that place if you value your time.

Great local pub. Just down the road from us and we frequent it often. $5 schooners on happy house and house wines also. Food is pretty decent also, and friendly bartenders.

I had total food envy. Carmalised pumpkin salad was very disappointing. I did try the chicken burger and charred corn and avo salad and they were both amazing. So I'm conflicted.
