Taylors Road Off Taylors Rd 2899, Burnt Pine
This was the low point of my Norfolk experience. On an otherwise friendly island, the cafe seemed unhappy to be serving customers and our waiter just walked away as we asked for some cutlery when our meal arrived. Unnecessarily unfriendly. Food was ok but you can do better elsewhere.
Nice coffee and lunch menu
I went to the Olive couple of times to get a coffee which was excellent. It was busy but had an efficient service. Their menu seems to be interesting with variety of food but didn't get a chance to try any. The Olive appears to be one of the best coffee shops on the island and was recommended by few locals.
Of all cafes on Norfolk Island, this one is always the busiest. I suspect that whilst locals do visit, it is dominated by visitors most of the time. There is a reason that it is always busy - the food and beverages are generally of very high quality and the staff are very friendly. I'm generally there once per day when visiting Norfolk.
A very relaxing place, great muffins.
The Olive has great food and has plenty on inside and outdoor seating. I've enjoy a few things on the breakfast menu however the one thing that lets them down is the use on the Campos brand of coffee. I'm yet to find anywhere in AUS where the coffee doesn't taste bitter and where it can be made with a consistent flavour. Happy to recommend the food and other beverages but for the coffee alone it's only a One Star. For a decent coffee visit one of the other cafe's in town.
Probably the tastiest coffee and brekkie food on Norfolk Island!
The best choice for breakfast with an excellent choice of dishes. Including many hand made on the premises, on one visit I enjoyed the home made corned beef on a sandwich. Friendly staff and lots of comfortable seating, both inside and outside.
Probably the pick of the islands Cafe for me, would have been 5 stars but the breakfast we had on the last day was not all hot. The coffee is great nice and strong, the food was good and very decently priced.
My wife and I have just spent a week on Norfolk & a fellow tourist told us that if we wanted the best coffee ever then visit The Olive. We did ( a number of times like every day!! And Wow their coffee is not only Delicious but consistently so. They also make a number of inexpensive soups that are packed with vegies & meats & served with a great Sour Dough. Regardless of your choice you will be served by a bunch of very friendly, smiling local girls. Go there!!
