The Mez Club

Food was nice, however I was seated upstairs with my friends where it was very dark. Due to the hazardous layout of the restaurant my friend fell and badly sprained her ankle down the small step. An unfortunate damper on our evening. A very inaccessible restaurant.

The Mez Club is worth a visit. The atmosphere is fantastic with its unique architecture. The evening lighting was subdued which I enjoy - that said I must try for a Sat or Sun lunch when its open for lunch as well. As important the food was also exceptional. Staff were great. We had a number of dishes as the menu is extensive - all were great. Will visit again.

Fiona was our waitress. She gave valued recommendations and estimations of courses required as sometimes Meze is tricky to predict. Perfect mix of familiarity and professionalism. The food was beautiful. We had all the raw items on the menu and the beef ribs. All were really good. The chef seems to like fragrant herbs as flavours were punchy but tasted perfumed. Really, really enjoyed and would highly recommend. The decor is also beautiful, a rather understated, but upper class, typical Byron vibe, if that makes any sense. Just a lovely way to relax after a morning dive. Especially in winter with the fire going.

Fantastic experience. Fiona served our table and she was amazing, very attentive, proposing cocktails and food getting us of our comfort zone and in fact we were not disappointed at all. She came back to check every single plate or drink that landed on our table to make sure we were happy. Keen to have a chit chat but still checking other guests tables too. Great cocktails, really nice food. Im italian and the gnocchi were cooked to perfection, v fresh ingredients and new flavours which is something I personally love to experience when eating out. The cherry on the cake is the venue interiors. Lots of attention to detail. We’ll def come back. Well done The Mez Club!
