The Highway

Well presented beer garden, & the booths were very warm much like the service. My only issue was when we purchased a 'bottle' of Jim Barry Riesling, which turned out to be 'on tap' & you only get 500ml not the 750ml you would get from a bottle, that was disappointing

Great spot for lunch, or dinner or conference. Facilities are remodelled and food was brilliant.

Very dissatisfied! Attended with 6 other people. Two ordered fish & chips which was satisfactory, but the other 5 ordered roast lamb that was very tough, chewy & inedible. Not happy diners.

Booked a table of 20 for a birthday celebration, with mixed outcomes. Excellent - the staff on the food counter Good - the bar staff and the food Average - our table of 20 was just next to the speakers and everyone found it hard to have a conversation. They weren't overly loud speakers for a pub, but were were just too close to them. Terrible - the person on the door. She was aggressive and rude. My son arrived in a Nike Tshirt and was told he couldn't come in as that attire wasn't allowed (apparently no sporting attire). She said we should have read the web site - but this wasn't brought to my attention when booking and it is a pub after all. The clothing was clean and not torn. With some sharing of jumpers between our group they were allowed in but it left a sour taste. Then my 70 year old auntie came with a gift wrapped bottle of wine for my husband's birthday and wasn't allowed to bring it in. Understand why but seemed overly officious. Finally, my sister in law came and she had left her phone at home. So she checked in manually on the Covid sheet as per usual practice. She was then asked for id to prove her identity! At 40+ she was quite chuffed about being asked for id at a pub but we all thought this was ridiculous. Overall a disappointing birthday celebration. We had been coming to the Highway for extended family dinners quite often but no more.

We had a 21st birthday party in May for about 30 people, the food was really good, but the bar staff and the kitchen staff were amazing. Nothing was to hard and they were very helpful.

I love this cozy place! Food are nice and reasonable priced, bar staffs are so friendly. Fried chicken ribs are my favourite menu.

The service is excellent, the staff friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and the venue is very well set out with an option for outdoor eating in a very nicely decorated area. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Lovely place when it is warm, sitting outside. Very popular on weekends.
