If I could rate higher than 5 stars, I would. Staff went above and beyond to make sure me and my party of four were fed. We're late for our reservation and the kitchen was closing soon. They're willing to take our call-in order and the food was ready when we arrived. The garlic and butter scallops were cooked to perfection. Portion on the chicken schnitzel was generous not to mention the creamy scallop sauce came with actual scallops! The soup of the day was so thick and creamy. All in all, a marvellous dining experience.
Big portions, warm and cosy, very tasty food and friendly staff. Even on a very busy night we were lucky enough that one of the staff was able to find us a table in less than 10 minutes. We ordered the Lamb Rack, a Salmon and Scallop special, and the Vegetarian pizza. All were delicious. Well worth a visit to this tavern.
Huge meals. The Porterhouse steak was cooked to perfection. Friendly staff. A really good find in such a small town. Definitely stop for food if you're hungry.
Great start, didn't stick the landing. The natural oysters were fantastic! So plump, juicy and fresh. However, it then took quite a long time for the mains to come - over an hour. I ordered the pork ribs which were a tad over cooked and seriously lacking in sauce (which was definitely required to offset the dryness). The slaw was quite decent and sweet potato chips relatively adequate. My partner had the scallops as a main which she quite enjoyed.
Went in today and asked for a fresh made salad sandwich from the bakery and the girl that served me said they already had fresh made sandwiches in the fridge. I responded I would like a sandwich without tomato and she replied “I don’t know how to make a sandwich.” Needless to say I didn’t buy anything and left. Who doesn’t know how to make a sandwich?? There were also two other staff members working at the time, surely one of them made the sandwiches to start with?
Food was yummy, love the meat lover pizza. Salt pepper squid was little bit salty, others all good, staff are friendly. Reasonable price at a small town. Recommend booking for dinner.
Good pitstop for road tripping, very friendly staff and harty food. Recommend the Kilpatricks. We shared a fish and chips as the portions were quite big.
Grabbed takeaway food and coffee. Food was good, but I had to put my coffee in the bin. I have a long black, and it was undrinkable. My partner's flat white was okay, but it's easy to disguise bad coffee with 300ml of milk.
Greeted with eftpos down cash only. The beef and mushroom pie could've been confused with a mince pie it was so runny. After mentioning it to the lady she did not charge me for the raspberry and white chocolate muffin, she shouldn't have charged us for that either....it was like rubber with no oil or butter in it. The quiche had a rock hard bottom. Disappointed overall. Such a lovely looking place with food that could've and should've been better for a bakery?
Great place for a meal and a gander - they also do early breakfasts in the Cafe section of the premises.
