Taverna Greek Psistaria

We have enjoyed this restaurant numerous occasions in the past 5 years so the six of us thought we would celebrate here last Saturday. I don't know whether we picked a bad night or the service has slipped but we were so disappointed with this restaurant that we will never return nor recommend it. We ordered seafood and meat dishes with potatoes. The dishes came with fries. When we asked why we didn't get potatoes, the staff member said they ran out. We should have been told. I could've gone to the pub next door for chips! The salad was terrible, full of oil. The lamb three of us ate had so much fat that we barely ate it and felt nauseous after. Plus, five of us got their meal and the sixth had to wait 20 minutes. This happened twice when the 6th dessert was also 20 minutes late (and the Manager plonked the cheesecake on the tabled in annoyance). One of us ordered ice cream and were served a tablespoon of ice-cream. Barely enough for a 2 year old! We complained about the quality of food and slow service numerous times during the night. In fairness the waiter did give us a main meal and a dessert for free. Too little too late! We all would have been happy to pay for quality food and good service Overall a very disappointing night from a well established and pricey Greek restaurant

We had a table of 6 tonight for my wife's birthday, as always the food, service and atmosphere was excellent, thanks guys..

Had a fantastic dinner here, great atmosphere, wonderful food and the service was great too. Nice place to take your partner or also a group if you want something a little higher end

We highly recommend eating here if you want to experience the ultimate in Greek dining anywhere in Adelaide. The food was delicious and the ambient aesthetics of the restaurant including the music and atmosphere in general provided a very relaxing and enjoyable night out. The staff were always smiling and interacted with the patrons in a welcoming and courteous manner. Excellent all round and will definitely revisit.

Had wonderful dinner experience at this place with family. We have ordered chicken souvlaki, yemista, pita with fetta-chili dip and pasta for kids. Chicken souvlaki was packed with chicken pieces and delicious. Enjoyed Lemon potatoes with this too. Baked paper and tomato(Yemista)were jam-packed with flavorful rice and vegetables. It was really appetizing. Kids loved the pasta and pita bread. Dessert(portokalopita) was very luscious. Service was very friendly and quick.

Took very long to get served and then even longer for the food to arrive. The food was nice but the prawn souvlaki was one prawn stretched onto the stick (4 of) for $39. Never going there again very over rated and rude

This is close to the best restaurant I've ever been to. The inside has such a nice atmosphere (it looks unassuming on the outside). The staff is super friendly. The food most importantly is amazing. Literally everything is delicious. It is pricey which is probably good because otherwise I would be here everyday. Instead I'm just here once a week! You get what you pay for in a good what here, so check it out if you haven't. Oh and lots of good gluten-free options too.

The food we had was delicious and generous but disappointing that about 30 mins after ordering mains we were told the steak was no longer available and then about 30 mins after that was told the Moussaka was also no longer available. Given it was a Saturday night and presumably one of the busiest nights it was very lacking in forethought to actually run out of menu items. Can I suggest that you don’t have 2 sittings if you can’t accommodate requests for the 2nd sitting.

Our expectations were low, as we just needed a quick meal heading out of town, but it was fantastic. Great atmosphere, great service and very good food. We really liked the appies!

Pleasant environment with attentive staff and good service. We were a large group and several of us found the food to be very salty. Serves are huge.
