Good to finally get some real Chinese food that's Halal. The noodles are made in house and I really liked how friendly the staff was. Will be regularly dining here with family.

Are the chickens hand slaughtered?

We love this place. It is fully Halal. Chinese Uyghur foods. some things are similar to Cantonese like noodles and rice but the flavours are so unique, i think tomatoes and the spices taste more middle eastern

Some of Australia's best Uyghur. This is our go to place in Sydney. Highly recommend the traditional beef pies and spicey lamb skewers.

Amazing fresh hand-made noodles! Spices are sensational and the chef's recommendations are a must, in particular lagman noodles and the lamb skewers. Very generous sized servings large enough for take-away packs.

The first time I had Tarim Uyghur, I knew I had found a new home. Not only were the dishes filled with flavour, you could feel the love of home made food. In times of need seek the dry fried noodle. You cannot go past the fried beans... Perfect for all occasions.

What is Uyghur food? As the website says, it's a mixture of turkish and chinese food. Who are the Uyghurs? They are an ethnic minority group in China of Central Asian/turkish descent. Unfortunately they are also currently being heavily monitored and persecuted by the Chinese government in Xinjiang. Aren't we lucky to have this fine restaurant to try their cuisine. The website isn't wrong about it being a mixture of Chinese and Turkish food. I ordered their dumplings and gosh yangyo. The dumplings were beautifully steamed, thick style pastry and you can taste a hint of coriander. Add some chilli and vinegar and wait for the taste explosion happen. Steamed to perfection and the dumpling pastry is smooth. Now, gosh yangyo... potatoes are firm but yet crispy. The chilli oil and cumin make a great marriage of flavours. The lamb has a little bit of fat (the way I like it) and yet so tender. It is also cooked with onion and capsicum. Tonight it was a bit busy, the gentleman at the counter told me it would be a bit longer wait than usual as they were understaff. The restaurant sits about 50 people and it was packed out. It seems that most people there were ordering the Toho Qordah. Also to note, I am aware that there is another Uyghur restaurant in Chinatown which has a more extensive menu but my bet is Tarim Uyghur. Best to eat in if you can. I ordered takeaway, food was pretty good but because of my journey home, the potatoes arent as crispy when eaten there. This is not at fault of the restaurant at all. Giving this place a massive thumbs up and respect to the Uyghur people, I hope to visit Xinjiang sometime soon.
