10 Woolley St 2602, Canberra
Always sensational duck. Well worth the trip
My favorite Chinese restaurant in Canberra
Gave it a try after I saw a lot of positive reviews but my experience wasn’t satisfied as I’ve expected. The price was really cheap in comparison with other Chinese restaurants. The whole roast duck was only $29.50. However, I’d say the taste was just fine and a little bit salty. Probably, it depends on each other’s preference and taste because there were many people who assumed that it is the best in Canberra. Anyway, another thing I don’t like because the customer service was unwelcoming.
I ordered some takeaway Chinese barbecue. The roasted pork was really fatty and greasy and the duck was salty and dry. I believe the standard of ingredient is dropped for some reasons and some ingredient is not fresh because they need salt to cover the bad tastes. The portion of the food is still decent but I would recommend the restaurant to improve the quality of ingredient and use fresh ingredients.
Always amazing quality and flavour with a wide range of options. Great for sharing and value for money! This has been a place my family and i have been going to forever and it's always been a treat
Good price and yummy food. I always have my lunch here.
We really appreciate healthy fresh food. Chinese stir fry and roast duck are favourites. Tak Kee is a genuine Chinese and the food is very good, very fresh and expertly prepared. The venue is casual and average but we came for the food and left very impressed by your cooking skills. Each time I trek to the capital I will be doing so via Tak Kee. It is not common to find such great value when your travelling and this place was a gem for us. Thank you Tak Kee. We are looking forward to our next opportunity to savor your fair.
Ordered Duck laksa. The food is good & tastes authentic but I'll have to question their hygiene. I picked up hair strand & metal coil (from the metal sponge?) from my noodles. Not really happy
After 27 years of zealous patronage of Tak Kee, the quality of the food and service has now deteriorated to the point I can no longer recommend this place in good faith. Thanks for the memories!
Very old style but authentic Chinese restaurant. In the restaurant you can taste good food and Chinese/Hong Kong culture of the 1970's.
