Worst representation of a Hokkien char, Penang char koay teow ever. Does this look like a yummylicious - thick noodles, lots of crispy pork lard and with a divine thick black sauce cooked over fiery pan? πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈNO! (Can’t help it, I do take good pix). Chef is supposedly from Penang, yet how can one serve the infamous CKT with hor-fun like noodles, w calamari? Just a Penangite that do not appreciate falsity.

Char Kuey Teow is a real highlight. Sar Hor Fun aka Wat Tan Hor is also excellent. Har Mee is also good. I haven't tried many others but I can recommend the ones I've tried above.

Authentic Malaysian Cafe in Wantirna. The menu has all the usual hawker favourites with additional special dishes listed on the wall. We tried the Kolo Mee with chicken curry, Yong Tau Foo laksa and Char Kway Teow. All were tasty and flavoursome. There are also a good selection of drinks. Service is efficient and prices reasonable.

Authentic Malaysian food. Prawn noodle was good, otak otak was good. The curry want tan Mee was good. The price however is a tad expensive compared to other Malaysian joints around town.

This small restaurant is amazing. No branch, close on Monday, located far from the crowd, yet still full of crowd. Their sar hor fun is unbeatable and other dishes are also delicious as well. However, they only sell popiah on the weekend. Parking area is available, toilet is also available inside the restaurant and they provide kids plate and cutlery.

Very good Char Kuay Teow and Sar Hor Fun. The noodles are very wide and authentic and provides a taste of home (Penang & Malaysia). The Chee Cheong Fun is really good and very authentic. The Yee Mee is also very tasty and rich. And the Ice Kacang is a very nice dessert to finish our meal.
