Every time I set foot in this café I’m reminded of all the small towns cafés back in Italy! The cannoli are the best in town! The ladies are lovely and I also enjoy buying the typical Italian lollies they sell. Thank God for businesses like this! Ciao

A sicilian cake shop that has been around for a long time. And you can taste that experience in their delicacies. Especially their cannoli. Such shops used to be everywhere, but they're mostly gone now.

No place better in the neighbourhood! My grandson and I regularly enjoy their incredibly delicious pasta, the gelato - if it's gelato you love, you owe it to yourself to try theirs.

Found this place on recent trip to Melbourne and went there 5 days in a row. Authentic old style Italian cafe, recommend cannoli with ricotta or chocolate and vanilla made by Sicilian owner, florentines, Gelato nociolla....Practiced our Italian with owner and his daughter. Great hospitality and amazing food.

Best cafe on the street by miles. No hungover tragic party animal staff asking "so what's on for today?" After they finish the epic tale of last nights grace darling happy hour with their co worker. A Coffee with milk is under $5 like it should be, it also tastes like coffee rather than some kind of sour Amazonian berry that was breath-dried by a top knot artisan who is being constantly strangled by the top button on their pale uni qlo shirt. Music is at a reasonable background volume rather than club level (unlike Archie's). No rushing you out the door once you've finished. Easily the most welcoming cafe for all types of people, not just the usual cafe monoculture. Aquilana has good food, friendly no nonsense service and hot coffee! SEMPRE AQUILANA,

Went in ordered a couple iced coffees and a latte. We asked for soy and got burnt coffee and regular milk instead. I'm not picky I'll drink whatever but this latte was really undrinkable. Pretty dingy inside. Loud opera music blaring in an uncomfortable dining area. Took a couple tries for the unkempt store manager to get our order. Tacky place with poor service. Maybe they have good cakes? Don't know how else it'd still be in business.

Love this place. The best cannoli in Melbourne. The best florentines anywhere - head on a Saturday when a huge batch comes out fresh. Unpretentious and delicious, just like a real Italian pasticceria.

My family have been getting birthday cakes from here ever since I was born. Highly recommend and great value compared to more ‘trendy’ cake stores.
