Shogun Japanese Restaurant

Food is well prepared and presentation is good. However, some training for waiting staff is required for how to interact with patrons in such way to minimise the disturbances (physically and/or perception wise) when next course or dish is being brought onto the table. It's not very elegant in just pushing other dishes around to make room for the new plate. This can be achieved either skillfully or verbally when servicing at the table. Afterall this is a 4.5 or 5 🌟 venue.

The place is super cool with a New York vibe. There are tables, booths or my preferred seat at the bar watching the chefs at work. $80 tasting menu was so good (the sirloin the only thing that was not perfect). David looked after us to perfection. So good to have good service. The sake tasting was unbelievably generous and fun.

Great food ! The best Japanese cuisine in Canberra. The sashimi sushi here is so fresh with mellow taste and rich flavor. The staffed named Emma served us with friendly attitude and detailed intro of the food. Definitely will come again

Oh my goodness this was a superb meal! We’re not familiar with Japanese cuisine, but our very cheerful and knowledgeable waitress walked us through all the options, taking into account our preferences and tastes, to help us select some astonishingly delicious dishes. Seafood, vegetables and beef off the grill like I’ve never tasted before. And with the wine, again our waitress advised just right. The dining environment is lovely, not too noisy. This was a memorable occasion!

Popped in accidentally for a few cocktails while we were waiting for a table at a different restaurant. What an amazing place. All cocktails we tried (7 actually) were absolutely delicious. Food was great as well certainly want to come back. Staff was friendly and quite promptly. Cocktails came quickly - almost no waiting time (and we were at the busiest time on Saturday 8pm).

Had the best time, food was out of this world! But I have say my waitress made the night. Big thank you to Anna for her incredible service and making our night amazing! So much love to Anna!!

Amazing food, Amazing food service by Anna and wine service by two lovely gentleman. I took my partner here for his birthday. If you are looking for a high quality dining experience this is the place to go.

The culinary experience here is second to none in Canberra. I did book my reservation online as it was a special event, and I didn’t wish to miss out. On arrival we were quickly seated at our requested location at the bar, in full view of the kitchen area. If freshness of ingredients and attention to detail is a prerequisite to your dining experience, than you definitely won’t be disappointed. A true tasting experience, coupled with wonderful service. I look forward to next time.

As usual high standard of food. Although less attention to detail than previous dining experiences. Considering the prices.

No better way to celebrate Canberra winter with Raku's truffle degustation - divine in taste with full flavor perfectly blends and melts in your mouth! The black cod is also one of the best we have tried! Simply fresh and delicious! Highly recommended!
