Sage Restaurant & Bar - Function Venue Gold Coast

Despite the negative reviews I have read, I still went ahead and booked. We had arrived an hour early and asked if we could dine at 6.30pm instead and they happily accepted our request. The meals were great for their prices. Bruschetta for starters (yum!) and our mains were Atlantic Salmon and the North Qld Kangaroo Tender Loin. I should also add the service was great. Did not had to wait long for our meals and the noise level was medium, we sat along the outside/inside wall of the restaurant, perfect! It was also lovely to greeted by a friendly waitress who had also asked us which table we would like. If I really had to picked the negatives, it would be just the noise of the traffic along the restaurant and I was glad not to be seated right outside along the foot path where all people would walk past. Good restaurant and family friendly.

Food and service was amazing, very accommodating and patient to those with gluten and/or lactose intollerance. The ribs and cantonese pork belly are to die for.

Everything was great about this place except the chicken,spinach and pumpkin gnocci. Complete garbage. I should have sent it back but I was with my family and didn't want to fuss.

It's a nice Al fresco dinning place just walking distance to the beach

VERY VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM A MANAGER OF A FOOD RETAIL SERVICE ESTABLISHMENT. Found a hair in a pizza. Told the waitress who advised the manager. He came over, looked at the hair and said it couldn't be a hair as they all weary hair nets. I suggested maybe it was a bristle from a brush and he immediately liked that suggestion and agreed. Then he walked off. Without even apologising. When it came to paying, the waitress asked how everything was. When I mentioned the obvious problem with the meal, she apologised and asked if David (I'm assuming the manger) talked to us. I advised other than agreeing it was probably a brush hair, he mentioned nothing. Not even any attempt to placate us or even discount the meal. I then advised that I would be leaving a poor review, to which she apologised again. When we headed towards the exit, David moved away and went to the waitress where he remained until we lef. He talked to the waitress (who was telling him what i said) he didn't even come over to apologise or even look in our direction as we left.

May be we went wrong day or time. My brother in law and his wife invited us (my husband and me and our daughter) for a dinner . He prepaid platter, i think it was one of deal from groupon or scoopon. We sat at 6pm and order starter and kids meal for my daughter as we were hungry... we waited 2hours for food to be served ( by the time food came out everyone was so hungry and tipsy from a wine we drank while we waiting for food). The platter came and it was worse than hunger!!😂 Oyster was off ( we had to call a waiter and he smelled the oyster and he said " wow .yeah.. it is off!!") Meat and fish was cold ..literally cold- my husband saw the platter was stitting on the bench for a while before serving ...may be we went one of the busy night..may be waiting staff was short to serve all the tables..but since that experience , we are scared to try again .....even one of my friend loves this place ..

I have been here a couple of times and it wasnt bad. Until tonight - half way through dinner I took my child to the toilet, only to see the manager come out of the toilet........with food gloves still on ! I asked the front of house girl who he was, she said he was the manager but it was okay as he wasnt touching the food.... she finally agreed it wasn't a good look. Pretty basic hygiene i reckon. wont go back after seeing that.

Very good and filling food. We went between 5-6pm, which is when they do a 40% discount on selected meals. Really good value for money!

Overrated food seriously no imangination with share plates ect just fill them up with a lot of bread and dough-pizza not overly impressed sorry to say ... but just saying 😉

Great service and food .....great value.
