30 Seaport Blvd, Launceston
Great food with friendly efficient staff.
Awesome food and serbice
What a find! Only in Launceston 1 night and wanted to try some local seafood. The venue is delightful, service quick and food delicious. We tried the sourdough bread, oysters and marinated squid for entree. The squid was the best I have ever had! The scallops for main where on point and the local beer and wine where the perfect compliment. Highly recommend
Booked dinner here and everything went smoothly on the night. They have childrens' menu and colouring-in, which is great for keeping the kids entertained. We ordered the seafood platter for one, salmon croquettes, and buttermilk chicken. Presentation and service was on point. The raspberry sour beer was really nice. They also have non-alcoholic cocktails which is also great to see.
Lovely restaurant near the water. The atmosphere inside was relaxed and the food was excellent. About $27 for delicious crumbed fish of the day, chips, salad and tartare sauce.
Amazing place! Staff were so lovely and attentive. Had an amazing dinner so we decided to come back the next day for lunch as we loved it that much. Best buttermilk chicken ever and the seafood spaghetti was amazing. The view was also beautiful. Would come back again when in Launceston.
Best cider prawns weβve had! Very friendly service and at a reasonable price. Highly recommended if youβre in Launceston!!
Food was great, our waitress was fantastic. But when it's raining outside you must be aware of slippery floors, walking into the restaurant and being taken to our table, I slipped and fell, but not one staff member rushed to help, and our waiter looked back and said "i wondered what happened to you.πͺ
A bit hit and miss. Called to book but when we arrived they hadn't recorded the booking. They seated us anyway and then received a text confirming the booking for a different night. Nice decor and layout, entrees were both nice (salmon croquettes and calamari) but the mains were a bit underwhelming: Morton bay bugs didn't taste fresh and didn't come out hot enough to melt the garlic butter, steak was not cooked to medium and crispy snapper special was a bit dry. Portions were reasonable and prices decent, perhaps caught them on a busy night, would give them another chance.
Weβre both very impressed by the excellent value, quality of food, and service here at Rupert and Hound, Launceston (I like the name too). Absolutely delicious Scallops mornay π Fresh, Local, sustainable and family friendly in prime location, fabulous dining experience! πππ
