I’ve dropped into on this very cool looking and inviting pub & put simply it’s pretty damn good…….. I’ve had the privilege of watching 2 solo music acts now and both were awesome entertainers, it so relaxing sitting by the huge fire pit with a cold beer chilling out to sounds of happy punters laughing with great tunes belting out. I think the beer garden is one of the best I’ve visited in Australia. On Sunday I decided to stop for a light lunch and this did not disappoint either, Salt-N-Pepa squid was fresh hot and delicious but I do agree with one other reviewer the dish could use a little more pepper. The staff are absolutely efficient and friendly clearly taking pride in their pub and their work.
Awesome hotel, spacious, clean and inviting. Nice food and drinks, served by friendly staff Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Highly recommend this place
Staff here are amazing. Food was delicious! Quick service. We ate and drank in the Garden Bar. So good! I haven't been for a couple of years, but it's still the same. Thank you!
Beautiful old pub with delicious menu. Great outdoor venue with awesome fire pit
Food was fairly mediocre. Two of us ordered the 250g Eye Fillets medium-rare. At $42 each, they really should not have overdone it. However, staff were very attentive and prompt. The Posh Convict bar was excellent. Ambience was great.
Service was excellent and food was beautifully presented and delicious. My friend and I ordered the crispy skin barramundi and it didn’t disappoint. I don’t normally eat fish and truly was nice. Great atmosphere and staff were very helpful. I have always left happy from this place.
We celebrated my partner's 60th birthday party at the Rose & Crown Hotel over the weekend and had an excellent experience!! Everything from planning the occasion with Event Manager Emma, to the service, food and atmosphere on the day was outstanding. We wanted a 'family oriented' occasion and this was accommodated beautifully. Thank you to everyone involved for helping to create a beautiful and memorable occasion!
It’s a lovely venue and love the garden area for drinks and nibbles on summer nights, but the last 3 visits over 4 months have been disappointing, meal wise. Each time, the steak has been dry, and this last visit, for all 4 of us, meals and coffees barely warm. For the price, the serves were small. The main dining/bar area was not open, so we were in the room with floor boards. Due to the acoustics of that particular room, it was difficult to hold a comfortable conversation and all agreed that we would not dine there again if that is the only indoor restaurant available. The staff were friendly.
The Rose and Crown “prefers” to segregate people with disabilities. I recently entered the beer garden on a quiet night. I hadn’t been seated for a minute before a staff member told me that I had to sit out the front with my assistance dog. The dog was wearing his coat, clearly marked as an assistance dog and I had my handler ID. I told him that it was an assistance dog but he insisted and said it was his “preference” that I sat elsewhere. I then sat in a segregated place where there were no other patrons. I sent an email to management over 2 weeks ago reminding them of their legal responsibilities to not discriminate against people with disabilities but my correspondence was not even acknowledged. You didn’t just provide bad service, it was hurtful, unlawful and disgraceful.
Unfortunately the second time we’ve experienced both poor service and meal below the expected standard. A soft pork belly with not so much as an apology when it was pointed out to the host despite him agreeing it should have had crackling. Host seemed to want to be anywhere other than taking care of patrons this evening unfortunately.
