Had a few times meals at this traditional restaurant. Alas, it has stopped operation. Fortunately I had the opportunity to taste the tofu and pork from its last day, among huge crowd and queue. I hope the owner the best. Thanks for the good food all these years.
Came to have some food before my flight back to Sydney. Didn’t have any expectations but this tiny restaurant surprised me with delicious food and great service. Flavour was quite good with the price tag, and the staff was very welcoming. I will definitely go back if I live around there
Wow - A really huge surprise. What looks like a seemingly innocent standard Chinese affair from the outside, turns out to be one of the best tasting Chinese Malay places in Melbourne. The chilli crab is very very solid and very authentic. Big juicy mud crab with a flavourful sauce. The mantou is of course recommended. Honey pepper beef and the salted egg prawns were also great but the absolute stand out is the crispy silken tofu in soy. Staff are friendly and place is nice although the chilli crab is definitely on the expensive side (around $111 for the dish for us).
Such a shame that this iconic restaurant is closing. Always delicious Malaysian food. Get the salted egg fried chicken and the seafood tofu. The noodle soups are also a hit.
Came in as a walk-in after having had no luck at a more famous Chinese restaurant further down the road (even though I'd tried to make reservations) and this place welcomed us. The food was excellent! We were celebrating my Mum's birthday and she was very happy with what she ate, the Red Hot Wok chicken. My salt and pepper calamari was faultless, my husband loved his sweet and sour pork which he said was not too sweet and a bit spicy but good, the veggies in oyster sauce were delicious, fried rice had big, plump juicy prawns in it and all of the servings were so generous. The service was attentive and very swift. We were all very happy and we shall return. :)
Please try this lovely little restaurant it’s fabulous and the food was divine but sadly it’s closing this time next month so try it before it shuts we have given it 5 stars it fabulous .
A family friendly palatable Chinese Malaysian cuisine restaurant in town. With a good location this place considered to be relativefly pocket friendly and has a good service. Parking area are available along the street, which could be difficult on the weekend. However, they serves online order now, which is so much easier.
We ordered 2 dishes and waited 1 hour to get the food. It was okay but nothing amazing and certainly not worth the wait. There wasn't actually that much food for the high price asked either. On the positive the service was nice and their coconut rice was delicious.
Wow, this restaurant serves amazing Malaysian Chilli Crabs !!! 5 of us had dinner this evening. We had: 1x Chilli Crab 1x Butter Crab 1x home-made Tau Foo (bean curd) and 3 other dishes. It is the BEST Malaysian-style food I have had in a long while. The Chilli Crab was served with oil fried steam buns. These soaked up the beautiful chilli gravy. (We had to scrapped the left-over gravy to take home for breakfast). The Butter Crabs - what can I say?? I’ve not had this in Melbourne for a long long time. To add some urgency to this. This restaurant will close for good in mid June. If you want to taste the Best, you better hurry. 313 Toorak Rd, Sth Yarra. Monday to Sunday, (close Tues)
Friendliest service I have ever experienced and the food was amazing! Will definitely come back for more.
