Deserves a better star rating than it has. Really nice place with a great atmosphere. We booked last minute and they were able to accommodate for us. Food was what you would pay a lot more for in other restaurants and the service was really good. Definitely a 5 star rating from me.

This is an excellent Italian restaurant, hidden away in a suburban shopping strip. Honestly some of the best pasta I've eaten that wasn't made by my Nonna, and the other dishes on the menu we're all delicious. Set in a wonderful high ceilinged building, definite go to for date night.

I am rating based on 2 dine in experiences here. Positives- The food for the most part was lovely, the food that wasn’t so nice was removed off the bill which was good to see, fantastic kids meal packs that are very well priced, quick service and the architecture is impressive. Negative- My first experience at Piccolino was with my partner. We were upstairs which is quite tight however the issue that night was around the two female staff members that were standing next to our table most the night gossiping loudly. It made our experience not feel very romantic or relaxing. The second experience was a group booking. I had booked a table downstairs. I was very specific that this table had to be downstairs as a member of my family had just had a knee replacement and the stairs are quite steep. I stressed the importance of this more then once. I booked in person and confirmed over the phone. Unfortunately when we arrived to the restaurant, our table was upstairs. The man serving us said no one had written the table needed be downstairs and they couldn’t give us a downstairs table because there was another group that night that looked like they had some older members who have an issue with the stairs also. I don’t see how this was our problem as we booked weeks in advance but there was no other resolution. Luckily we were able to assist her and she wasn’t in a wheelchair or something because then we would have all been turned away despite our booking. A tip that would definitely make it a better experience also is having some beer on tap like most restaurant. Unfortunately it’s all bottled.

Carbonara was a bit salty, but the staffs were very lovely and accomodating.

Such good food and service..Loved the interior design and elegant look inside..outside does not do the justice..food was very much for our liking ..although pasta on carbonara was slightly bigger for my liking and would like some more sauce with it.. PS.Thanks for the reply..I'll try again ..probably tonight..

I really can’t describe it in any other way as “just terrible”.. “just terrible”.. which was a huge disappointment as all four of us had been before and bragged about this place as a real go to in the eastern suburbs.. We wondered when we walked in if the business had changed hands, by the time we left we definitely thought that it had.. The issues being long long waits for drinks, two people decided to share pizza and the lasagne, we asked if the chef could cut the lasagne in half, leaving it on the one plate just cut it in half making it easier to share, we were flatly refused by the waitress, saying it couldn’t be done and that we could do it ourselves!!!... The other two main meals being oil based linguini marinara’s, although both were loaded with plenty of seafood, one of the dishes could have passed for an oil based broth let alone a soup there was so much oil. Both the pasta and seafood were totally ruined, being immersed and soaked in oil to that extreme. And here comes the rub, the arrogance of the young waitress was disgraceful. Not only trying to justify what had been served up, but would argue the point. From having to ask about our drinks, to it being way too difficult to cut a lasagne in half and finally saying “the soup” was how you serve up linguini marinara, when there was another one the table that was totally different. When we said the meal was inedible, she took it away to ask the manager, only to return in under a minute, the plate had either been drained or replaced, three muscles that had been eaten they were missing so it was the same ruined meal “a pasta seafood type of oil glug"… Its not as if the place was busy being Easter Saturday to throw together a new plate.. but no…. The arrogant waitress still stood her ground… We were happy to be leaving after our meals… Just terrible Piccolinos.. Just terrible… We were so disappointed….
