This is no way authentic pho. To be fair, staffs are friendly. This is a nice and cozy place, unfortunately not for pho. Anyone has a taste for authentic pho with at least a good conscience cannot accept this is pho. Let me tell you the recipe: go to the asian grocery supermarket, asking them for pho msg cube and take it home, boil with water. That is their broth. Having pho here, You will not smell the strong aroma wellknown for pho, or the stickiness subtle hidden in the bone broth found in authentic pho. This is MSG soup. You will need to drink a lot of water later on to cure the Chinese Restaurant Syndrome. It can take several hours for MSG to get out of your body, so be careful of the syndromes. They didn't even bother to pound the noodle in boiling water. Or actually they do, but they do not how to do it properly. And this is weird to see that it takes them half an hour to prepare for Pho from order to serve on table. In a typical authentic pho restaurant, the broth soup in the pot, every kind of meat in the boxes. So it cannot take that long to take the order and prepare. This happened to the table next to us. It is fair to say that the taste is adjusted to the inexperienced Kensington residents, which is acceptable. If you really want to taste the authentic pho, go to other place, where you can see Vietnamese lining up to get into.
Delicious pho
Delicious food and a favourite lunch spot for my team and I, the rare beef pho is by far one of the best in Melbourne, I would highly recommend - if you love your chilli oil, there's plenty available and very speedy service.
Pho was nice and good serve. Prawn dumplings were good. Banh Xeo was also nice and good serve. Cold Corona to finish off. Nice service.
If the food is as good as the coffee it should be a brilliant place .Pho is not hot only Luke warm, taste very ordinary, i would expected better when the place is called Pho house. The pork and vegetable is good flavour but portion could be improved.
Great. We were soooo hungry, yum
Great value and delicious Pho, I recommend the spicy beef Bun Bo Hue
I like Pho but I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite dish. Having said that, I always order it when I eat here. Authentic Vietnamese at it’s best... Usually. Generally the food is great, the service is great with friendly staff. Pleasant decor and clean (including the toilets). Unfortunately this visit was a bit of a let down. I ordered the chicken combination Pho which is supposed to have young egg in it. No egg and not as much chicken as usual. My partner ordered a different noodle dish and requested rice noodles with fresh chili on the side. She was served egg noodles and no chili. It was still good food though. I would not hesitate to recommend this place for their outstanding Pho (and food in general) but perhaps consistency could be improved. Will definitely give them another chance.
The glass and wood interior blended with warming yellow light made a cosy place for me and my buddy to catch-up in a rainny day. Best place in the neighborhood for Vietnamese snacks like Coleslaw with prawn crackers and Spring rolls. Then we have Pancakes, Bun Bo Hue (Spicy Beef Noodle) with Fried Calamari. The sweet deserts are unforgettable with Che Thai, and Fried Banana with Ice-creams.
The soup of BBH is good. But I think the large size is just equal to the medium size of others Vietnamese Restaurant. Also the Avocado Smoothie is not sweet enough.
