271 Swanston St 3000, Melbourne
3 years ago my boyfriend and I had our first date at Oppa. We continue to regularly come back because the staff are so lovely and the food is amazing. I picked up some takeaway recently after a long lockdown of missing it. The menu is diverse but every item Iβve tried has been great! I highly recommend
We ordered the chicken schnitzel curry, sweet & spicy fried chicken, Doenjang Jjigae and the beef gimbap. Out of all the dishes I tried, the chicken curry was my fav and would recommend. The portion for the soybean stew (Doenjang Jjigae) was the worst as it was served in small portion and only had a few slices of beef, was very disappointed while the gimbap was filled, it lacked flavor.
The food used to be nice here a few years ago, but unfortunately the quality has gone down quite a lot. Busy night meant the food took a longgg time to come out, and the quality was average at best. There are many more higher quality and more authentic tasting korean restaurants near by so unfortunately this place doesnβt meet standard.
Kimchi stew was amazing and much more mild than I expected for something labelled as 2/3 spicy. Regardless, super yummy
Nice place for a quick bite and drink! The boneless fried chicken was nicely done, the sauce wasn't overwhelming yet strong enough to complement the dish. Best to be enjoyed with a side of Korean beer! The crispy rice cake skewer with chili sauce was good too, it's crispy on the outside but still nice and chewy on the inside. Place wasn't too spacious so better not go in when you're carrying lots of things.
I think the food has a lot of room for improvement. I ordered some fried chicken, chicken bulgogi and the cheese corn dog but they all missed the mark for me. My advice is to increase the amount of seasoning in your food so it isn't as bland and don't put seaweed in the chicken bulgogi as it completely overpowers the dish.
One of the good Korean restaurants on Swanston st in the cbd. We ordered the spicy pork belly on rice and also fried chicken with soy garlic sauce with tteokbokki. They were pretty good, especially the pork belly. The fried potato which came with the dish was a bit cold. However, overall it was fine.
A good place to get a quick and cheap bite
Quick service with great food. Clean environment and blight area. We had really good time here. Fried chicken with sweet and spicy sauce is definitely highly recommended. Hot stone rice is my favorite. Beef smelled so good and really delicious. Would visit there again soonπππ
Good and reasonably priced Kprean food nothing complicated just good old fashion Korean food. Service fast
