Went to Olio Kensington Street in 2020 for a Tuesday dinner. Perhaps it was post Covid, the restaurant was very quiet and not crowded at all. Food and ambience was good! The staff was attentive and we had a great night out. Overall a good experience!

A perfect fine dining with friend. Highly recommend everyone order the set diner menu and with paring wine, it is definitely worthy for order. I have never feel that much different tasted before. Great experience, I had really wonderful dinner tonight. The last special cocktail with coffees was amazing for after a very sweet dessert. Friendly staff, great services.

Olio is the best Sicilian restaurant you can find in Sydney, the authentic food and the warmth of Chef Lino and his crew make you feel like you're in Italy. Make sure you try the fresh bread with cold pressed olive oil and check out the amazing wine selection!

Spacious restaurant with lovely ambience and lighting. Great food and portion sizes, well presented. Prices a bit high for what it was even with a special offer. Friendly attentive staff. Had to ask for a table away from a pillar and kitchen thoroughfare despite the restaurant serving 3 other tables at the time. Stair & elevator access available. Clean facilities.

We had such an amazing night at Olio! Andy and Alyssa were the magnificent staff taking care of us. They had amazing suggestions, were so professional and polite and seemed to anticipate our needs before we did. The food was heaven on your pallets. Make sure you order the scallops but the surprising star was the char grilled cabbage in the sides, so amazing!!! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Beautiful decor, terrific service, exemplary dishes. Perhaps more high end than I'd anticipated. Great for couples, small groups.

NEVER disappoints! We can not sing Olio's praises highly enough. It really is an absolute culinary delight. Nuova Cucina Siciliana at it's finest - without a doubt, consistently one of the best dining experiences in Sydney. I would highly recommend the degustation for 'first timers', however Olio's a la carte menu is sensational and caters for all dietary requirements. Lino and his team really do go above and beyond to ensure your dining experience in nothing short of amazing!!!

Enjoyed an awesome at the event, dining in the dark. The food was amazing along with the atmosphere & taking away the sense of sight whilst dinner was the most weird thing, but highly recommend it.

Description

Chippendale’s burgeoning Kensington Street precinct gets another injection of exciting new international food talent. Sicilian-born, award-winning chef Lino Sauro (Gattopardo, Singapore) opens Olio Kensington Street in early 2017 to show Sydney why Sicilian is the new Italian. Olio Kensington Street (Italian for olive oil) is located in the beautifully restored The Old Rum Store with a contemporary indoor dining room plus lush rooftop terrace overlooking Chippendale. Sauro comes from a long lineage of self-sufficient Sicilian farmers where he grew up with meals that were created with the quality produce grown on the property. This translates into Sauro’s menu with dishes that reflect a strong connection to his Sicilian roots. Keeping it in the family, Sauro sources his olive oil – the base of all his dishes – from the family’s Sicilian farm. Typical of the region, seasonal seafood, wild fennel, raisins, saffron and couscous are hero ingredients on Olio Kensington Street’s menu. For the past 10 years, Sauro has lived in Singapore heading up his first solo Sicilian restaurant venture showing locals that Italian food can be more than pizza and heavy, creamy sauces. Now it’s Sydney’s turn.
