New Somali Kitchen successfully catered a 50 person event for us within a weeks notice. The food was hot, fresh and delicious with more than generous portions. Everyone who attended couldn’t stop talking about how good the food was!

First time trying Somali food and it was delicious. They serve complimentary soup and bananas. The staff was very nice and polite and did a good job. The place is small but cosy and with clean and nice ambiance. Overall, a good first time experience 🌟

Excellent food with very generous portions! The meat was cooked to perfection and the free serving of soup very welcome in the cold weather. Looooved the rice. Great service would recommend everyone give this place a try.

We were greeted by a beautiful looking African man named Addow who said “ welcome home” what an awesome first impression!!! After checking our dietary requirements we were immediately served a cup of lamb broth. We were recommended the slow cooked lamb shoulder sharing plate, which we promptly agreed to. Cool modern looking decor to boot!

Absolutely incredible experience. Never have i ever been to a restaurant where i felt obligated to leave a positive review. The food was unforgettable and the service was both genuine and warming. Perfect for any intimate occassion, where you want to remember a good day out.

Food was good, but was very upset with the customer service and the sudden price increase when paying, and they were unable to provide a receipt. Given menus with several options, but when we wanted to order we were told there's only one dish available (why did they not tell us earlier?!). Said dish NSK Classic Regular size, was supposed to be $13 on the menu, but when paying, the counter told us it's $18, and said the menu was outdated (why still use them at the restaurant then?!) They also told us their machine wasn't working so was unable to provide a receipt, it sounded very dodgy and unfair as we were there to support the Melbourne Money initiative where we needed the receipt to apply for a discount from City of Melbourne. Ended up unable to, and even more we needed to pay more than what's on the menu! We did try to talk about it with the staff but it was no help. Looking at the other reviews, it could be just us who were extremely unlucky to be served by some workers who had terrible attitude and ethic at work. Won't come back again.
